Customer experience isn’t to my taste….nSmyths is the defacto Toys r Us replacement, invoking memory’s of the warehouse aisles piled high of my childhood. But unlike Toys r Us the prices are generally good, enhanced with some decent offers from time to time.nWhat I don’t enjoy though is the store’s use of headsets and their take on security. I’m guessing they must have a real issue with shoplifting or something as I always feel like I’m being watched and the staff are only ever half engaged with me as they are constantly being fed messages over the radios. And god forbid when I wanted to look over something that was behind their desk today to see what the specs/version was. The girl on the till was less than helpful and wouldn’t let go of the item at any point. What did she think? That I was about to leg it out the door? That’s just insulting! Just tag stuff or put a guard on the door. A toy shop should be a place of joy and freedom, not feel like some sort of authoritarian state.

Visited today wanting to look at travel systems before we decided and bought one. We spent a while debating between 2 prams and the lovely lady, Georgia, came over and helped us. She got both prams down & demonstrated everything to us & was extremely patient with us even though she had quite a few customers in her section at the time! She was friendly, helpful and really good at giving us advice on car seats etc. She then further assisted us on buying a next to me crib. We ended up on deciding on a pram thanks to her and can’t wait to come back to collect it

Awful experience...went with my pregnant daughter to look at travel systems...no one about to ask ... 30 mins later I asked a man at the front of the store and was met with disdain and annoyance that I'd actually asked for help ... long story but they didn't want to know or help ... won't be going again

My partner came in a week ago to buy a gift for me and he was served by a lovely lady named Rachel. She was knowledgeable about the product. Helped him pick what was what and was delightful. We can't say what an asset to your team she is enough!! and should be recognised so! Thanks Rachel!

Absolutely shocking service! I ordered a couple of toys for my daughter yesterday online for Christmas AND paid for them! I can’t collect them until Tuesday.nHad a message today saying I needed to collect them by the end of today so rung them to ask if they could hold them for me especially given I’ve already paid for them. A girl said they only hold them for two days despite the fact I’ve already paid for them therefore no they can’t hold them for me. I will not be using Smyths Toys again!
