Lou is a gem, so knowledgeable regarding baby and child safety. Great customer service and advice previously so had to return when I needed a car seat and pushchair for my first grandchild to specifically fit my car. No hard sell to buy the most expensive items, only the safety of the child was paramount.nWouldn’t sell me anything until she knew it fitted and was perfect for my needs now and in the future.nHighly recommended, thank you!
I recently made several visits to Smyths Toy Store and I have to say, their toy selections are really impressive and affordable. However, I was quite disappointed with the customer service assistance. The staff seemed unfriendly and bored, which is not ideal in a toy store. It reflects poorly on both the younger customers and the older ones too. It would make a huge difference if they showed a little more enthusiasm and gave a friendly welcome.nnOn the positive side, the store is located in a busy retail park, but finding a spot to park is not a problem. They offer free parking, which is convenient. Overall, while Smyths Toy Store has a great selection of toys, their lack of friendly and enthusiastic customer service could definitely improve!
Absolute worst customer service.nIf you want to feel threatened go ahead and visit them. Alternatively, go somewhere else!nMe and my husband brought a baby gate and whilst trying to assemble the gate i read that it needed screws. I brought a pressure gate and did not realise that was just an option so we decided to take it back for a pressure fit only one.nThe cashier Ceren, was chewing her gum looking at my husband with a blank impression on her face not bothering to even talk or say anything to acknowledge what we said just spoke into her headset and walked off!!nThen came the guy who knew it all. Or so he thought. JORDAN the most rudest and unpleasant person i have ever been served by in a store! He was so rude and so confrontational that my husband tried to stop him and actually say why are you being so difficult and confrontational when we are explaining the gate is unused we just want a exchange. apparently if zip ties are cut you cant return their products so for future advice go b&q but £1 worth of zip ties and then return them!nHe walked up to us with an attitude to start with no smile. Nothing clearly in a mood and sulking face and he just did not want to help. He kept saying we cant take this back its been used when the gate has not been used, all parts still there the only reason why he refused was because of a zip tie that was broken off apparently we should not remove packaging or anything off a gate. How ridiculous considering we need to in order to assemble the gate!nNow that he was getting aggressive my husband asked for a manager and he got angry talked into his headset and a women appeared saying she was the person who worked kn the child department section.nPATRICIA- she appeared out of nowhere and started to join jordan on the rant that the product cannot be resold! How could you not accept a return on a product that is well within the return or refund time? Since when is this even legal?nShe was also being rude so we ignored her too until the manager showed up. She has gotten angry and walked off anyway so not much of a difference there.nNow i must be honest the manager was the inly one who took the time to look into the product and realise it actually does not need to be screwed onto the wall and we can pressure fit it and found a video and showed us. Finally we got somewhere! Then she took us to the back to show us the gate already assembled to show that it does not need screws so perfect i was thrilled that i can use this product and was not mis-sold a wrong product as i asked for a pressure fit gate only.nAnyway i thought now that this was sorted i needed to buy a highchair, toys and some other baby bouncer and gym etc but my husband said take her name for a good review as i took the names of the people who were so rude so i asked for her name before i asked for anything else and she gave me her name AMIRA the store manager and then as she walked off she shouted out across the shop floor ‘she asked me for my name blah blah’nNow dont get me wrong but who ever is the general manager for these stores should be ashamed for themselves for hiring such an incompetent and rude staff who would not know what customer service was if it hit them across the face.nSuch a shame. Its a lovely store with lots of goodies but unfortunately its filled with absolutely horrid people working there. We were so upset of how they treated us i felt so threatened that i had to move away with my baby in my arm because honestly it was getting so confrontational by the staff its so sad. People like that are left to run a store. They should go work with mobsters since they are acting like one.nnOh one good thing though, bless the security guard at the door he was so calm and politely asked if he could help and also on our way out my husband spoke with him and explained how upset he was with the service and the poor boy said he understood and just listened politely at least the security guy was a pleasant person.
I was here for the first time and I left disgusted and feeling like a criminal. I wanted to buy a car seat, the lady asked about the age and weight of the child and said she couldn't sell me the seat, she started telling me that I didn't care about the child's safety, etc. Car seat is to small for my son so I decided to buy bigger one Then she talked to a friend through headphones and told her that I was insisting because I didn't care about the child's safety. If that wasn't enough, she also expressed her thoughts to the work colleague in my presence. I just left there and went to another store where no one tried to demote me to the worst level of humanity
Customer service is bad!!nPerson on the till doesn't even bother talking to you.nFix up for your paying customers.nIt's not a charity shop as we don't get it for free.nIf you don't wanna be there, than don't.nInstead of upsetting people. Go do something you like as no one is forcing you to be there. If you getting paid and wanna stay there than be nice to people!!!nLacking Serviceeeeeeeeeeeeeee
