The staff are amazing. I met a lovley young lad called Lewis, who was more than happy to offer help as he noticed me struggling. They have a great selection of toys and games, there aren't many high street retailers about anymore, and I much prefer to see what I am buying. Also the gentleman on the checkout who is great at upsetting without the pushy tactics A*
Recently purchased the Nested Cozi Sleeper for our newborn son, only to find it has a tilt when strapped to the bed. The tilt causes baby to roll to one side, making the product unusable.nnUpon trying to return the faulty item, the duty manager refused on the basis that she couldn't see the tilt. She did eventually accept that it tilts but still insisted it wasn't a problem.nnHaving checked the product reviews online, it seems this is a common fault and the google reviews suggest that poor customer service is common at this store.nnIn summary, we are extremely disappointed with the customer service and we will not be shopping at Smyths again.
We have bought already a few times from this shop and a few times we have been served by Kirsty. She is very helpful and professional. She has always approached us first and helped us with any questions and queries we had. She is an excellent professional and we highly recommend her.
We visited the Aylesbury branch to purchase a ride on bike for my 2 year old son. The minute I picked a bike and made my son try the bike I found a lady at one side of the aisle closely watching us and commenting that the bike is too big or too small for my child, not in a helpful way. The label in the bike clearly was within my son's age range. Her tone was very rude.nnThen we found another man in another side watching us too.nThey made us feel like we were shoplifters. What is the point of coming to the store if we can't look at the item we want to spend money on? I could have rather purchased online. Awful experience, never made felt like this before elsewhere.
Ever since the demise of Toys R Us, Smyths Toy Superstores have stepped up to the plate and filled that vast void admirably!nThe Aylesbury Broadfields store is fantastic, with a huge range of toys and games.nThere is one chap on the cash registers, John, who might look and sound a bit scary, but he's actually a really nice guy who knows his onions and will bend over backwards to help.nThe Store Manager however, on the one occasion I've had to ask him for something, came across as aloof, disinterested and more concerned with watching everyone like a hawk - understandable in a retail environment and in the current social climate with potential thieves everywhere, but not in a Toy Shop with young children everywhere.nApart from that, a brilliant shop with a great selection!
