Amazing place. Staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. Took amazing care of my elderly dog through his operation and kept us up to date at every stage. Can't recommend them highly enough.
Phoned on Thursday evening as advised by our vet as our dog was throwing up blood. As soon as I said he wasn't insured although we have savings that would cover all bills I was told they'd "need to check if the vet will accept him" and they would call us back. I asked if we could just start heading over to the hospital as we live in Cumbernauld and that it was clearly an emergency but was told no, to wait on a call. Meanwhile our dog started bleeding even more heavily and was struggling to breathe. We got him to a local vet that was open late but it was too late to save him. To make it worse this so called hospital phoned an hour later asking how our "dog is feeling now"! He's dead, that's how he's feeling. Maybe if you had seen him and not taken an hour to call us back then just maybe he'd still be with us but we'll never know. Will never use or recommend this hospital to anyone, money taking priority over the lives of animals is unacceptable. RIP Fergus.
We attended this Hospital with both our dogs and had very different experiences, one of our dogs was dealt with by the Orthopaedic Surgeon Andrew MacLaughlan and his team who couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly and really took excellent care of our dog. Our other dog was in for tests for which turned out to be a tumour. Both vets we dealt with were quite cold and unhelpful and did nothing to help our very nervous dog, they barely explained the condition and the service was a shambles to be honest. We decided we didn’t want to admit our dog for the operation as we had very little confidence in them and so went to Edinburgh where the service couldn’t have been more different. We wanted to lodge a formal complaint about the Vet but discovered she left a few weeks ago. The Vet sat on results for 7 days because it was Easter weekend she told us and forgot to tell us even though our other dog and ourselves could have picked up this dangerous bug, the vet even wore gloves while touching our dog but didn’t think it was important enough to advise us or that our other dog could get it. No apology and told us they only got them the day we were given them, after asking for a print out we discovered they had them 7 days previous. The reception staff are always friendly and helpful but the two vets we dealt with were awful, so unhelpful and couldn’t really care less. The only good experience we had was with a student Vet who sat in on one of the consultations who couldn’t have been any nicer or more helpful explaining our dogs condition to us, it’s a pity the Vets didn’t take time to do this, so disappointed with the service as we have been here several times over the years and never experienced this. We are glad we made the decision to attend Edinburgh as the Vets we so kind and gentle with our girl and took the time to explain everything to us, it’s a shame the Vets we dealt with here didn’t do the same.
This place took good care of our cat when she was experiencing seizures. The communication was excellent. More recently they were extremely helpful in sorting out replacement medication for our cat in just over an hour from receiving our call when we were stuck for options on a weekend. We are very grateful!
Highly recommend. 2 different vets said my dog had cancer and recommended putting her down. Turns out she’s not got cancer at all. Thanks to the small animal hospital my dogs still alive and receiving treatment for urinary tract fibrosis and still running about like a pup. Avoid Glenbrae bunch of swindlers and clueless. If I’d believed them I’d be without my dog 6 months ago.
Our young border collie has been receiving treatment, including surgery, at the Small Animal Hospital since November 2023. The treatment has been excellent and the surgeon has provided excellent information at all stages of treatment.
Amazing staff and care for our dog. Taken in on an emergency and given the best care possible. The Neurologist team and surgeon Chris are amazing and reassure you so much
I will forever be grateful to all of the staff for their very kind and supportive experience in what was such a painful goodbye to my best friend and companion tina for almost 12 years. They helped stop her painful experience and allowed me time to be with her as she passed over onto her next journey. Rip baby girl you will never be forgotten
