This place and Rob the owner are absolutely amazing. It was great to find a car hire place that has vehicles with a tow bar. They had 2 awesome Ford Rangers. Had a wonderful conversation with Kate the lady that got us booked, and we were off with ease. Had an issue where we accidentally left the keys in the car and it didn't shut off, so the next morning it was dead. Rob came out personally within 20 mins of calling him, picked is up in a sporty BM, and brought us back to the dealership to get another vehicle. The other Ranger was out so we were offered the BM or a 2023 Santa Fe. The Santa Fe was amazing. We needed a car trailer to haul something and Rob had one ready for us the next day when we picked up the other Ranger. There are so many positive things I can say about our experiences with Rob and his company, but in short I will say that they have a true family feel and take good care of their clients. We are still in one of his vehicles and will be getting another tomorrow. He has a variety of vehicles to suit whatever need u have for travel or transport. I would highly recommend using Gwalia.
Another excellent vehicle supplied at short notice today, vehicle new, low mileage and clean. Staff friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. We are very lucky to have this company on our doorstep for businesses and personal use. Highly recommend.
Fantastic Car Rental, would recommend them to anyone! All the cars are in immaculate condition and all the staff go above and beyond to support their customers. They’re friendly and efficient. The process of hiring out a car is super simple and quick and value for money. Thanks to Rob who took me on a little drive as I don’t usually drive an automatic!
I'm not a person to leave a bad review or leave critical comments as I know how difficult times are for businesses at present. I prefer to deal privately with the business if any problems should arise. However when problems aren't solved and rudeness occurs then I believe other potential customers should be made aware... We chose to hire a van from a local car hire business. Payment was made and we were given a time of 9am for collection. We had an important appointment to keep, hence the hire of the vehicle. We were then hoping to visit a local amusement park . Upon arriving at 9am there was no sign of the vehicle. A staff member called the previous person who had hired the van and he eventually arrived at roughly 9.30am. This had already caused us some worry due to our appointment time an appointment I couldn't keep and had to end up driving my own vehicle to make the appointment After inspecting the vehicle when it arrived it was clear it was in a filthy state,photos enclosed the staff member seemed quite embarrassed. I explained I would be emailing the boss to complain about the state of the vehicle and also the fact that we had paid from 9am. With respect the state of the van isn't the fault of the business nor the late return of the vehicle Staff member then handed the keys over to my partner, not once did he check the fuel levels or mileage. We asked about the fuel etc and were told "just bring it back as it is" We presumed because of the inconvenience they were letting the fuel side of things slide, especially as they didn't know the level to begin with! I was awaiting a call from the owner of the hire company today as his reply to my email was that he was also 'fuming' at the state of the vehicle and that he would 'sort it on monday' So I was quite alarmed to find that almost £40 was deducted from my account today. After calling the company I was told that this was to refill the vehicle to a full tank. I advised the staff member that we had indeed put some fuel in and that it certainly wasn't a full tank when we we received it. No apology about the state of the van and no reduction due to the vehicle being late. When I questioned this, I was told by the staff member, "'This isn't my words, but the boss said take it up with him because of the money you owe him for a bed!" I'd like to point out the said bed was a purchase I'd made privately some 7 years ago, and was paid in full. However this is completely irrelevant. This is no way to run a business and I felt somewhat concerned about the above comment. In future I'd be more inclined to pay that little extra for decent customer service without having the worry about funds being deducted that aren't actually available!
Fantastic hire at short notice. They were extremely helpful. I hired a Kia Stonic, a sporty little number in great condition. I hired for a week as it represented better value and I was sad to hand the car back. Staff were absolutely lovely and couldn't have done more to help. Would definitely recommend and I would use them again.
We hired the 17 seater last week for our Nurses tour of France, Excellent service from the staff, nice vehicle. very easy pick up and drop off. We will hire again from Gwalia and wont hesitate to recommend them to our business colleagues. Thank you for an easy hire.
Checkout staff very friendly and helpful. Return staff not such a good experience.would have expected checkout paperwork to have been read before wrongly attributing damage on vehicle to customer.i would also have expected the windscreen to have been cleaned of the many 100’s of bugs squashed on it! No collision damage waiver is offered so could end up being a very costly hire.
I booked a van with Gwalia recently and had to then cancel and rebook. I couldn’t recommend them more. Helpful and friendly with fab van at good price. Who could want more.
Great experience with these guys. Highly recommended,will definitely use again.
