Some of the best traditional style fish and chips you can buy. Nice fish restaurant with a small range of seafood but focuses mainly on traditional style fish and chips. The quality of the food was a cut above your usual chip shop, I had a great, plump and fresh piece of cod with very light and crisp batter with proper fresh cut chip shop chips. Quick and friendly service and a nice range of local beers on tap. A little expensive £15.50 but I honestly couldn’t fault it.
Amazing seafood restaurant. The lobster was very fresh and delicious with the garlic sauce. Fish and chips were good too. Scallops were really nice but one was just slightly undercooked. The restaurant is well decorated and spacious.
arrived at midday and the restaurant looked empty, went in and were offered any table, within ten minutes of us seating down the place filled up. so good timing. ordered fish of the day hake and the fish pie with a glass of wine. the fish pie was filled with mussels, prawns and smoked salmon, a mush topping with some sort of crust, and a side dish of crunchy carrot broccoli and braised shredded cabbage. I enjoyed this meal. the hake was perfectly cooked and more chips than we could eat.
Service was good, fish looked good, but this tiny plate of dry scampi and chips just wasn't worth £14.50. Not sure if I got a bad batch but it tasted about the same as what you'd find in the freezer aisle in a supermarket.
Great fish and chips. Nothing more to say. Fresh, well cooked, full of flavour! Gorgeous. Great service and the restaurant is spotless. If in the area this is a must visit for fish and chips. Curry sauce is gorgeous
I highly recommend anyone to reserve a table a day or two before as it can be extremely busy. If you are lucky, then you may be able to book the same day. Anyhow, all staff were extremely attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was jovial and warm, with the dishes being served fresh. The three of us ordered a selection of starters, with the oysters being so delicious we ordered another plate. For main, we ordered lobster and chips, and some fish of the day haddock and chips. It was served piping hot and fresh. You can tell the food is not frozen and is caught the same day. If you love seafood then Simply Fish is for you. Pay a visit, as you will not regret it.
Absolutely fantastic fish and chips, amazing staff and amazing curry sauce and garlic mayo. One of the best fish and chips ever. Hake and Cod, my boys both had cod and chips and demolished it. Thank you for an amazing meal and may i add fantastic portions
So many trips to Brixham over the years and only just visited for the first time. Best fish and chips ever tasted ! Prime Cod Fillet, a little pricey, but worth that. A generous portion, freshly cooked to order. Would definitely recommend, and would come again !.
I have reviewed this place on behalf of my wife for reasons that will become obvious. It's a very nice place and I am guessing by our visit usually very popular. There is a clue in its name, as apart from a vegetarian burger and kids menu, they don't do much else than fish. Even then the fish choice is rather limited. Unfortunately unlike the vast majority of their customers, I don't eat fish and had the vege burger. The wife used to own chip shops, and knows a thing or two. She very highly rated the fish but the chips were very "dry" and quite unappetising, and there were too many of them. Not just us? We did notice quite a lot being left by other diners. We thought the sides of mushy peas and curry sauce etc were quite expensive for what they were. My burger was a bit mushy but it was OK. We did mention our concerns to our waitress but apart from an apology she didn't offer anything further. Nice choice of drinks.
This isn't just your run if the mill chippy. It's a great restaurant that serves incredibly fresh fish with a smile. We've been here three days out of seven. We tried the others; rockfish twice and some others. They didnt come close... Fantastic service - thank you to all the staff for the hard work.
