A lovely Indian restaurant tucked away behind one of the town centre shops. When you walk in the size of the room surprises you especially when it's busy. This is a very modern restaurant with modern furniture, good service and very good food.We were very pleased to have found it and would definitely go back.
Absolutely delicious - not yer standard Indian cuisine but proper nosh, beautifully presented. Wish we lived within 100 miles - but will be back next time on the M1 and considering Leicester services. Great service too this evening.
Definitely worthy of 5* all round. Very accomodating, staff helpful, food delicious. We loved the wines , very refreshing. The only caveat was it was so hot in there. Parking: Park in the square if theres a space or otherwise street parking. Wheelchair accessibility: From what I saw it was easy accessible and some of the tables could accomodate a wheelcair user but not sure on toilet access. Best to phone ahead.
Please note I've done many Google reviews on restaurants , mostly 5 stars....so I'm not some nutter setting up a profile just to do 1 rubbish review ... Booked a table here for 2 on a Saturday evening. Seated at a table where we had the waiter's backside within a few inches of our food when serving tables either side. Upon raising the issue the excuse was "you haven't been here before" and "it's a Saturday night". Also "ask for a different table when you book". Absolutely pathetic. As if to say if you haven't been before you deserve someone's backside next to your curry. The bonkers thing is we have been here before a few years ago but there is a reason now confirmed that we haven't come often. They knocked a few quid off the bill for this.. Not enough to cover 2 drinks. The curry is distinctly below average. Lacked seasoning. They get away with it due to a total lack of competition in this part of Leicestershire. The upsides were the service was quick and there is a nice atmosphere in the place.
What can I say?. Super duper all round, exquisite food, impeccable service and we were passing trade but they made room for us, this is clearly a very popular restaurant as it got busy very quickly. Thank you Simla Peppers for making our dining experience a great one!.Food: 5/5
Our favorite place for birthdays, nights out with friends and family. Takeaways more recently and tonight’s was exceptional. Thanks for keeping our taste buds alive. Dave
Superb service, good advice and recommendations of the food. Attentive and interested waiters. Food was delicious, 5 of us shared a veg and a meat platter for starters, mains selection is extensive, beautifully cooked and presented, very tasty, take note of waiters advice on how spices hot the dishes are. Deserts looked good too but we were too full to eat more so settled for the lovely and mint-chocs. Will definitely go back if in the area.
Very easy to miss where the wonderful Restaurant is! We booked and wow! Truly a fantastic restaurant, amazing staff and fabulous food. This is a fantastic place to eat, with knowledgeable staff who are very happy to explain the dishes and what is spicy and what is HOT HOT HOT! Just a super restaurant with fantastic food, well done to you All at Simla Peppers
Very disappointed , Was recommended by a friend, Booked in for 630 pm Saturday 8th October for two people. Service was seriously good but felt very rushed, we were bk home for 730. Food was not what I expected, I ordered a main of fry chicken tikka , it stated with onion and salad. Asked for a sizzler plate, was told they don’t do that as plates are hot enough, first Indian restaurant I’ve been to where they don’t do a sizzler, Well the main came out and it was like a starter! Pieces of tikka sliced up not chunks, tiny bit of Lettuce and a few bits of fresh onion, portion sizes very small. That was it, had chips as a side. Hubby had a chicken biryani, came out like a loaf of slop but rice was hard, no poppadom either and he ordered it,was still charged on the bill which we questioned, got that taken off the bill ,sorry not good and it’s not cheap either, Went home hungry. Won’t return .
Great food and lovely staff. Great variety of curries too, a bit hidden away but well worth the findFood: 5/5
