I ordered from the app, they took the payment and immediately cancelled the taxi. It took 5 days to get my payment back. There is not a complaints procedure and nothing mentioned in t&cs around taking Money for cancelled taxis. When i rang and spoke to the "manager" she was unhelpful, rude and clueless. The management team are clearly untrained and incapable of running a business. There is a clear reason why people are using better taxi companies in the area which are also a lot faster. Avoid this company, use at your own risk. Absolute clowns
Pre booked a taxi days ago for 10am was needed for an appointment in town, 20 mins late, making us late for the appointment, driver who was rude impatient tried to pull away before either myself or passenger had seat belts on. Excuse used on the phone when I called was traffic due to road works. But they have been in place for weeks so hardly a shock. Used a different firm for return and had a much nicer experience. Won't be using again.
Suddenly stopped taking dogs. Never had an issue before. My dog is small and travels well but no, they won't take him. How are disabled people who don't drive supposed to get their pets to the vets? Why on earth would they stop taking dogs suddenly like this? Now I'm stuck trying to get to the vets all taxi forms seem to have dog issues and extremely stressed. So that's just wonderful.
Absolutely awful taxi service , never show up on time when you pre-book a taxi, be prepared to wait for at least 20 minutes after you have booked for. What is the point in being able to pre-book for a selected time if they’re not going to show up for that time anyway? Spent hundreds of pounds on taxis with them over the last year or so never again! Most drivers are ok but some along with the operators in the office apart from the two ladies are downright rude!
I requested a taxi from mac hospital to manchester. On the phone the operator asked if we wanted to pay card or cash. When the driver arrived there were 2 elderly women in the car who weren't informed they would be sharing a ride neither were me and my girlfriend and looked uncomfortable doing so but thankfully agreed to let us ride with them. At the end of our journey the driver then asked if we wanted to pay by card to tell us straight away we had to pay by cash. After giving him £50 we were told a 20 was out of date because we though we could pay by card we didn't get any "new" money out. Then after going to 2 cash machines at 11 at night, giving the driver the money wasn't offered any change on my £42 ride. One star is too generous but unlike a lot of the other reviews we did actually get our ride. I will be avoiding this company at all costs in the future.
Nearly left us stranded in the middle of no where! AVOID! Used this company on Saturday for a return journey to/from Hide and Seek festival and had a terrible experience with a calamity of errors. Firstly for the pick up journey there was no card machine available and we were never pre-warned to bring cash, we were then told we should have checked with the office ourselves and ended up having to sit on hold to try and pay with card details over the phone. Then for the return journey which we had already pre-paid for on the phone call above! we were assured we would receive a phone call to say when our taxi had arrived to pick us up as the festival is busy with hundreds of other taxis. We never received said call and after multiple attempts to get another taxi dispatched to us, we finally found a Silvertown taxi and was advised to get in. After trying to explain to the driver the situation and to call the office to confirm he just straight up refused in the rudest most annoying way possible and put the window up on my face. We then called the office again and was told the other taxi had been taken I’m assuming he got offered more money and didnt care to think about us being stranded. We ended up having to wait an additional 30/40 minutes for another cab to come for us with low levels of phone battery In the middle of a field which was a stressful experience. To top it all off I had pre booked taxis with the company for the next day, which when I called up to try and cancel, they hadnt even booked them in for us in the first place! Absolute shambles of a company. In the end I rebooked with Cab Co who were amazing, turned up on time, reasonably priced and even sent confirmation texts.
One of the worst taxi services in the country. You book a taxi and the taxi gets dispatched, you get yourself ready to go outside to get in the taxi and then it gets cancelled. You then ring up to ask why, you get excuses beyond excuses and are told to book another one. So you book another one and then you are told that no cars are available. Silvertown create false hope for people and get people really stressed and late to where they want to get to. SORT IT OUT GUYS
Silvertown Taxis - 5 Star Service Fantastic Drivers and Helpful Staff when you call to book a Taxi. Jazz 61 picked me up and took me home and all the Drivers are Amazing. Thank You so much Silvertown. Keep up the Great Work.
Poor customer service, cars either don't arrive or arrive late, despite booking days in advance. Would not recommend. Getting a refund takes a lot of work.
After a couple of reasonably priced rides with very friendly drivers we were stung with a scandalously priced rides for going 6.5km. Called to complain about the fare charged. Another local taxi firm did the return trip for a third of the price.
