Good selection of shops. Only one charging post with two 7kW chargepoints though. It wasn't busy today and we were the only ones charging but I am sure that there are times when there is need for more! Charging points in front of Sofology in lefthand carpark and cost 44p/kWh if used with PodPoint app
There is a great range of shops. We partook in the magnificence of the M and S food hall. Loading up on pizza and snacks I left lighter in the wallet but heavier in dense foodstuffs.
Nothing actually wrong with the shops , it's just a very busy place at weekend for parking and getting in and around the area..there are better retail parks in Newcastle and gateshead .
Silverlink Shopping Park is definitely a great place for a casual shopping day out, with its mix of high-street fashion, home goods, and beauty stores. Plus, if you get hungry or need a break, you've got options like Five Guys, Pizza Hut, and Costa Coffee. And for entertainment, there's the Odeon cinema, where you can catch the latest blockbusters!
Traffic has been hectic every time I've visited over the years. Mental getting in and out, junctions always chocka. Only visit if you have to, or if you're nearby e.g. Rake Lane hosp.
Went to Next Costa coffee, lovely staff and very helpful. Enjoyed a little browse on the way out. Always good quality here.
The sprawling site boasted an impressive array of shops, offering a diverse range of products to cater to every shopper's needs. Its strategic location was a major advantage, easily accessible from all compass directions, making it a convenient destination for many. Yet, this retail haven was marred by a significant flaw—the chaotic road layout surrounding the car park. The frustration began as soon as one approached the site. Navigating the labyrinthine roads leading to the parking area proved to be a daunting task, causing unnecessary delays and aggravation. The situation was further exacerbated by the presence of a popular drive-thru near the main entrance. The constant influx of vehicles queuing for their fast-food fix created a bottleneck, adding to the traffic woes. This congestion near the entrance became a significant deterrent, forcing many, including myself, to actively avoid the area whenever possible. The unfortunate juxtaposition of a well-located shopping paradise with a poorly planned road network was disheartening. It seemed like a missed opportunity, as the hassle of reaching the shops overshadowed the excitement of exploring the wide variety of stores available. One couldn't help but wonder why such a vibrant shopping destination hadn't invested in a smoother traffic flow to enhance the overall customer experience. Despite the tempting array of shops, the frustration caused by the challenging road layout and the perpetual queue at the drive-thru deterred me from enjoying the convenience of this shopping complex fully. It was a reminder that even the most attractive retail destinations could be significantly undermined by overlooked infrastructure issues, leaving visitors longing for a more seamless and stress-free shopping experience.
Decent size shopping complex, plenty of free car parking, only went in Boots, and M&S still managed to spend lol
Plenty of parking both here and 'Next' shopping area. Good array of shops, shame about Wilco but hope the site will be taken over soon. Pleasant morning shopping.
Great selection of shops and plenty of parking! Accessible on foot, by bike and by car. There are also great public transport links.
