It's got nice shops with cafes. Their is nice seating outside with a green and sometimes attractions on the green. The shops include clothes shops, a pet shop and stationary as well as a pound shop. Nearby there are lovely parks and leisure complex offering bowling, roller skating and arcades. There is plenty parking. It's worth planning a visit.
THERE'S NOT MUCH TO IT?! You'd think being an outlet store there would be a lot of shops selling you stuff. I thought that, and when I looked at the place from the outside, I assumed it would be just like another Cheshire Oaks. But it's far from that. I think I counted three rows of shops, most of which you'd probably never go into anyway. A couple of coffee shops, Poundland and a Garden Centre ... and that's it?! It's definitely seen better days and could probably do with a refurb and some fresh new shops opening up on site. I'd say if you want to waste about an hours worth of time, it's worth a look. I was done in 20 minutes.
Total waste of space. No shops worth visiting and unsurprisingly the DFDS buses ship the tourists directly to Newcastle and bypass this midden. Similar retail parks eg Dalton Park and Gretna Gateway are far superior in evry respect. Don't waste your time going here.
Rapidly going on a downward spiral with less than 50% of the shops still open. Why dont the Royal Quays management promote the place through the Cruise Ferry and DFDS Ferry terminals instead of shipping visitors off by bus to Newcastle as they disembark the ships..?? Surely an hour or so spent on the RQ before setting off would enhance the place and encourage businesses back, or is it a case of corporate greed with high rents to retailers..??
I'm afraid there isn't much going on here. There are too many closed down shops. It's a pity because it used to be a great place to look for bargains. I won't be in any hurry to return.
It's always a pleasure to visit here. Today I visited for the Enchanto and my daughter loved it. Visited Next outlet, the works, Garden center and ice-cream shop, Vera vintage shop not much there to buy and was smelly.
Half of the shops are closed, nowhere to get food other than subway or costa which don't count as a meal as such. Shame because there is so much potential and space they need to invest.
We've been here a few times and it never seems to be busy. A few shops have since closed, the brewery being one but it still goes on. Currently there is some revamping of the parking going on, maybe that will inject some more life into it. Having said all that the shops that remain all seem to be ticking over and it's nice to be able to walk round and not be constantly bumping into people.
This place used to be quite vibrant and had a good selection of different stores offering value, however, now it has many empty units, many of the valued outlets have gone, and there is little there to attract trade. It needs dome real investment to attract the right stores back and then shoppers will return.
The tourist tax being lifted would have benefited this place, it is right beside the ferry docking and lots of scandinavians used to shop here. Now there are empty shops and less footfall. Shame, as in the summer it is a p,easant place to spend some time.
