Nice well established pub. The atmosphere was inviting and pleasant, and the staff were engaging and helpful. The music playing was a great addition. I would highly recommend this place if you're looking for a great night out. The overall vibe was very positive, and I look forward to returning in the future.
Team catered for a family event recently, staff very polite and helpful. Pints of Guinness were nice here. Lounge has sports playing on tv as well as a jukebox. Pub itself could do with an update, think it’s the same it was 25 years ago when I was last there.
Looked after very well with short notice,,,fair play ,, funeral party 40 people could not do enough,a big thanks
At a party in the function room upstairs and there wasn't much of a selection of drinks to choose from. For that reason I only gave 2 stars
Not the first day I come here, the service as usual is good.
Had my grandsons Christening there and the staff were great and the food was very good and Liverpool won 9 - 0 against Bournemouth so it was a REALLY GREAT Day that il NEVER forget!!
Hired a room here for my daughter and nephews communion and to say I'm disgusted is an understatement.. The room was sticky, filthy and grimey. The toilets were absolutely shocking, bins & sanitary bins overflowing and toilets absolutely vile. I decorated the room this morning, asking for the toilets to be cleaned, got back up at 1.30pm for them still to be filthy, I had to approach the manager again to clean it. Had a sweet table with fruit shoots for the children and the bar man tried packing the little drinks up off the table, when I told them not to touch anything he argued with me getting books and an apparent receipt/contract that I was supposedly to sign with terms which I never signed. He then proceeded to get the owner which I might add has the mannerism of an ignoranamus, threatened to close the bar down over a few little fruit shoots for children.. They pulled a fortune in off the bar with possibly 60+ adults there for 5 hours. My family have spent almost 2k in the last 2 weeks with 2 parties here, excluding what was made on the bar. The behaviour today was nothing short of shocking, the room, toilets and stairs up was disgusting, absolutely filthy. I'd recommend to not bother booking here for a party because you'll get ignorant bar men and 'owners' talking nonsense and causing unnecessary issues & leaving the people organising it very upset and quite frankly angry. My family will never and I mean never set foot in the filthy kip never mind hold an event here again!!

Very run down dark and dreary could do with a major face life
Over the last 3 weeks, I was there for a confirmation and 2 communions... I have never ever been in so much filth. There was dirt on the floor that was there 3 weeks earlier. The walls had actual slime and grease coming down the walls. We asked the manager to make sure the bathrooms were cleaned as they were disgusting, and I mean disgusting, still hadnt been done by the time family and friends got there. The manager was the most rudest person I have ever come across. Furniture was so black with dirt, ripped and digging into our skin. We physically couldnt touch anything for the slime. NEVER EVER AGAIN, Will myself or family go back to that kip, not just from the dirt, but the attitude of staff... YOU NEED A CLEANER, OR SHUT DOWN TO BE FUMIGATED. ABSOLUTELY FILTHY
