We had a nice breakfast here this morning along with a few of the locals..food was lovely and very reasonably priced..bar and toilets were very clean and staff very helpful and industrious
Superb foods and fantastic ambience. Indeed one of the best restaurant and pub in Dublin Ireland. Highly recommended…Thanks a mil!
The carvery is excellent value, well worth a visit. The Halfway House staff are courteous and friendly.
Great place for a solo or group meal. The atmosphere is lively and the service is stellar. Definitely recommend.
Went for dinner there this week with a few people. I ordered the vegan curry and all it literally was was some sliced peppers, onion and courgette thrown into a watery curry sauce. If they had even been diced, it might have been nice but there was no thought put into it. I'm not vegan, I just didn't fancy anything with meat in it. The food my companions ordered looked lovely and they were happy with theirs. I had banoffee for desert and couldn't finish it. Also, as we were chatting after our meal, someone decided it would be a great idea to put on a football match and turn up the volume. We were unfortunate enough to have sat down under the TV which was on silent when we arrived. We had the sound of football and the music from the sound system at the same time to contend with! So we just ended up leaving instead of ordering more drinks - none of us were drinking alcohol, just soft drinks, but we would have stayed for another half hour. The staff were all lovely, very attentive and there was no long wait time for table service. I have eaten there before and had many nights out there in the past so this was a disappointing experience. It won't put me off going back there but maybe improve the vegetarian/vegan choice. And warn the people sitting under the TV that you're putting on football, give them the courtesy of moving to another table.
Beautiful place, had a delicious full Irish breakfast. Very friendly staff.
Hadn't been in this place in many years and can say hasn't changed a bit. Nice Old style pub with nice feel to it. had a plate of carvery beef dinner which was nice and tasty. Reasonably priced too. Staff friendly and helpful.
A great spot for good grub and great pint. Staff were very friendly too. In fact I left my cap there and when it was handed in they kept it safe until I collected it. I had emailed them and Sonya came back to me to let me know they had it. I’ve left many a cap behind me in venues never to be seen again. Not so at the halfway house. Well done guys. I’ll be back
Classy, clean, quick service, very good food, great Guinness, appropriate pricing. The place has awesome character. Beautiful woodwork, cast iron radiator heat, years in the making of a local treasure.
I had the misfortune to order the wrong food. I ordered a lasagna for which the plate was pipping hot but the meal was just a little warm. This was clearly reheated in the microwave. The lasagna was also too salty and gave me bad stomach aches after, which tells me that the food wasn't fresh. Other than that, it is a nice pub and it is not too expensive but I'll probably only order a drink next time.
