AVOID PARKING HERE. Parked here to take my Autistic son for a hospital appointment. As I was in a large VW van I didn't want to attempt to use the hospital car park. Relief to find there was plenty of space in the Siddals Rd park. I pulled up the Van next to another vehicle and immediately set about trying to downland App and figure out how to pay whilst ensuring my highly anxious autistic son remained calm. As such due to my level of distraction I didn't pay attention to small signage regarding markings. Markings which are barely there at all. One could almost think the intention is to catch you out. I ensured I paid for more parking time than required and area where Van was located still had ample space on our return. I will be contacting NCP in the hope they will have some level of understanding and cancel the fine. NPC has refused my appeal. No surprise there. Perhaps they should consider actually spend some of the fine money on the badly maintained car park with some actual clear signage for parking bays
ROBBED! I paid £3:95 on the machine as it said it was 24hour parking and I have just had a parking fine! If you try and appeal, the fine goes up to £100 instead of £60... Nice one NCP!!!!!
Wow! We’re not the only ones then. My partner, who is so particular about parking her vehicle in the correct area, has just received a letter dated 6th June now 16/6/25 from a debt collection company asking for £170 for not parking within the “bay” on 8th April. This is the first notification received. No letters, no emails or notifications via the app! Could this be a scam?
Beware the so called ‘parking bays’!nWe used to use this car park every time on visiting the city centre due to its good location and relative cheapness. We put up with the unfinished surface and huge potholes. But recently we were fined £60 for not correctly parking with in a bay. My partner had parked as close to the vehicle next to us on the perimeter of the car park not noticing the dash on the unfinished surface that constituted a ‘bay’ according to NCP. It is an utter scandal and daylight robbery to fine someone £60 for not parking in a bay when it is not a bay in the first place. We had innocently thought we were parking diligently but after receiving the fine, we will never use this car park again.
Parked disabled bay and displayed ticket and blue badge Couldn’t download app so paid at machine Issued ticket went through my dustbin found paid ticket and apparently that machine doesn’t cover my location My issue is I am a carer and tried my best to park and pay where is the understanding? Now had response to this review from customer relations Absolutely heartless company ticket stands money more important than disability!
