Good clean multistorey parking. Excellent location , walking distance to town centre and reasonably priced.
Chapel Street multi storey car park is the closest car park to Derby city centre after Bold lane car park. The car park is a secure car park, which has fencing all the way round, once you exit the car park, the only way to enter is with your car park pass which comes out of the machine upon entry. Make sure you take the car park pass with you upon exiting the car park.
Seems like a pretty secure parking garage. Gates close behind you on entry and you need the card to access when you return. The stairs wells always smell a bit funky and the parking spaces are a little slim. Cheap to park overnight when staying at the hotel next door, only £1.20.
The fist car park we used was the secure parking in Bold Lane. The car park may be secure and have wider bays. However, if you have a large 4x4, think twice about using this car park. Even with 360-degree cameras, it was a nightmare getting around this car park. We actually went straight on and off. SMALL cars should be no problem. This car park felt like it was built for mini's from the 70s. Unfortunately, this car park was the same as the one mentioned earlier. If we hadn't found a place on the first level, we would most certainly have left the car park. Manoeuvring on this car park was also a nightmare. Spaces are SMALL. Take this into account if you are thinking of using either car park.
Left my car in there when I went to work last night which I do every weekend as I do 14 hour shifts, some nitbag stole both my subs out my boot not only that they stole a vape which is just nitbag behaviour, anyway I’m trying to get hold of the carpark for security cameras which I can’t because I can’t find the number anywhere, not secure at all won’t be going there again.
