Myself and my elderly mother came for a wonderful meal today. The staff were very friendly and welcoming on arrival. They had the fire going which kept us very warm. We had the roast beef and it was fantastic, very tender and not chewy which you don’t get often very highly recommend for a meal or a drink.
Lovely evening and food. Staff were very friendly and attentive making us feel very welcome. Beautiful location. Would highly recommend and shall visit again. X
An empty car park is never a good sign on a Sunday lunchtime. A lovely pub, nice staff and a friendly welcome. Pub was cold on arrival and we were not the only guests to comment. Food was nice and hot. 4 of our family opted for roast beef which was very over cooked and incredibly chewy and I couldn’t cut most of it which was really disappointing, there are no excuses for that! Veg was ok, a bit soggy but edible. Really sad to leave the above feedback, what should have been a lovely family treat turned out to be really disappointing.
Had booked a table 2 weeks ago for lunch today with a friend. Place was shuttered and phone un-manned. Why were we not told that our booking was not to happen?? Very disappointing service. Went off to the Ashton pub the Chequered Skipper instead and enjoyed a totally different experience.

Had a wonderful lunch for two. Warm welcome on arrival. Lovely decor. Great choice on menu and food excellent. Well presented and flavoursome. Located just outside of the Town of Oundle in beautiful surrounding countryside, with the added bonus of Alpacas at the end of the play area and garden - Great for the children.
