A very, very good cinema in the North East! The parking is extremely large, with disabled spaces located just outside the cinema entrance. The recliner seats are comfortable, I'd say as good as the ones from the Vue cinema in Bolton, however it lacked the trays which would've been helpful. The separators between rows offer more privacy for viewers, which I enjoyed. The sound quality was so-so, we watched Jurassic World: Dominion and I didn't feel that the sound effects were that loud. The bathrooms were clean, and the hallway offered sofas where one could wait or just relax. The staff were polite, good customer service. The booking experience via the website was smooth, and an extra added touch was having a look at the food and drinks menu ahead of arriving at the cinema. There is an option available to place your food and drinks order ahead, but we chose to decide upon arrival. The nachos portion was very good size, of course cinema food is more expensive but hey ho! I'd recommend this cinema for an enjoyable cinema viewing experience!
Whilst the cinema is nice and the seats are very comfy, the back row seats have a very restricted view due to the angle of the screen compared to the row of seats in front. We went with a four year old and she ended up sitting on her mums knee to watch some of the film due to a good 1/3 of the bottom of the screen being impossible for her to view. In the end she got bored and didn't want to stay, so missed a chunk of the film. I did feedback to showcase and suggested an advisory in the booking process regarding ideal age/height for people using these back row seats, but felt also worth sharing here to avoid others falling into the same trap. The rest of the seats are great, just avoid the back row if you have younger kids. On a side note, the pick n mix is extravagantly expensive, even for a cinema, so maybe take your own.
This is definitely the best cinema in the area and has been for a long time. The seats are very comfy. The sound is brilliant. The X Cinema is a little more expensive but provides a mole leg room and good recliners. Also has digital sound so great all around. Any seat after the third row is perfect viewing for the screen.
Went to see a Sky Cinema movie The Amazing Maurice as we don't have Sky. This was the only cinema locally that was showing it. Nice big seats and very comfortable. Very friendly staff - more mature than you find in cinemas generally, and they seemed happy to be there. There was even a friendly security guard, which I have never seen before at the movies. Everything inside was very clean. After the film, we stayed for a coffee at the bar, which serves a small range of Costa Coffee as well as alcohol and food. We found it pleasant there, nicely set out and lit, accessible and surprisingly relaxing. Will definitely come for a coffee again which also helped us miss the rush hour traffic. The disabled parking is up by the side of the cinema building but often busy, although we have always found a spot. The spaces are close together, so might be tricky for a wheelchair user I did see a wheelchair user inside, so it is possible. There is sloped access from there around to the front of the cinema, with ramped access inside the building as well as the plethora of steps. The toilets separate ladies, gents and one disabled cubicle are sited together and generally clean. Disabled cubicle was clean but the toilet was very low set, which can be difficult. Unfortunately, one person child? had had tummy trouble, and the smell pervaded the entire ladies block. Given the traffic through there, perhaps there needs to be more thought to air fresheners? Toilet brushes are similarly absent.
Its been quite a number of years since visiting this cinema, and what a pleasant surprise ! Not only is their "Insider" membership which is free a great incentive - cheaper tickets on a Sunday evening and all day Mondays and Tuesdays - plus "cash back on purchases but the seats are absolutely amazing. Massive comfortable leather reclining seats with foot rests and loads of leg room. Highly recommended !
Friendly and helpful staff every time I've visited this cinema. I found the toilets to be spotlessly clean as was the auditorium and our seats. The sound system was excellent and we really enjoyed the film. A great afternoon had by all.
Disabled access not great ramp outside is uneven and too steep we had to squeeze past a parked car to get onto the ramp. The car was parked in a parking bay which is straight in front of the ramp... Comfortable seating with plenty of leg room For some reason during the adverts and trailers the lights kept on going up and down which was rather annoying. The cinema was very warm, for me too warm Staff were friendly and helpful
Dangerously comfortable chairs. Warning DO NOT GO TIRED 100% you will fall asleep.
Very nice cinema, spacious reclining seats, but refreshments aren’t cheap. Also, not a fan of the many speed bumps in the car park and many theres lots of stairs to enter. Plenty of car spaces and there’s a nandos with other food places close by. I would only come here for a treat once in a while as tickets are very expensive, but suppose you do pay more for the better seats.
Always love coming here, plenty of parking and comfy seats.
