Very rude carpark help staff when pressing the help Button at the barrier in the short stay carpark. I pre-booked a 10 night carpark stay and pre-registered my car registration months in advance via holiday extras. The vehicle registration recognition didn’t work at the gate so I pressed for help. The lady could not have been more unhelpful and quite frankly rude. She blamed everything and everyone apart from the system. She even blamed me for having a private registration. That’s why the system didn’t work apparently, even though I put that registration plate on my booking for months prior to my stay. I had to get out of the car and retrieve booking details in the dark, at 10:30pm (on Friday 13th April) with 3 small children after a long flight. There was not a single apology or even a polite hello or goodbye/safe trip/sorry for the delay etc etc. After 5 minutes of complete silence where I had no idea what was happening and me stood out of my car at the barrier, the barrier just lifted and she hung up. I asked if I could go but she had long gone, and didn’t reply. Awful ambassadors for our region, especially if I was a tourist. I’ll never stay here again.

OK but really wish it was free for first half hour, it's getting hard to find a spot on the approach roads as everyone waits there.

A lot of people seem to be reviewing the airport or the hotel next door rather than the parking! The parking is fine. It's a pity they don't have a set down area you don't have to pay for but you can park in the medium stay for 15 minutes without charge. Last time I was dropping someone off I walked to the terminal with them and I was cutting it very fine getting back within the 15 minutes (15-30 minutes is £3.20). For trips away, I normally pre-book and park in the short or medium stay car parks depending on the length of my trip (never bothered with the Long Stay - never seemed worth it having to get a bus). Both short and medium are convenient for the terminal. If they were a little cheaper (say 15% or 20%) I'd probably give them 5 stars.
