Visited here last week and for me it was my first time after hearing rave reviews from my partner. It did not disappoint. My partner enquired about off the menu items bbq lamb shoulder and Aida was sweet enough to prepare it specially for us. This was the highlight of the visit. So tender and full of flavour. We also LOVED the chicken biriyani and the naan was the perfect texture and flavour-pillowy and soft. Entire restaurant was very clean including the bathroom. Staff were lovley and accommodating Aida was present the day we visited and you can tell after speaking to her the passion and love she has for her food and business which really translates in the food. Definitely would revisit and recommend to friends and family
TLDR: overpriced, good staff, limited options. I can’t have dairy so options were very limited 1x main, 1x starter. I had the dahl served with coleslaw and rice. The dahl portion pot was very small, the texture a little watery, it was served Luke warm and I found it uninspired in terms of flavour I cook and eat it out on the reg. Most importantly however, it was £10 for plain rice, coleslaw and a ladle of dahl - overpriced. The staff are lovely, the free water station in a nice touch, the decor is beautiful although the scented candles are a little overpowering and I’m sure the other dishes are delicious - but if you are paying £10-11 for lunch, why is it in a cardboard box with disposable cutlery? I feel like lowering the price a few pounds would make a big difference to the volume of customers dining.
There are very few nice Pakistani restaurants in London where you can go for good food and nice ambience. This place is definitely one of them. The quality of the food was great - the starters are AMAZING. They were all really good but definitely try the okra fries and bun kebabs. This is the closest to Karachi food you can get outside of Karachi! In the mains the lamb shoulder was absolutely divine. The staff are polite and friendly, the restaurant itself has lovely decor kept taking photos! and I ended the evening with proper chai tea which was so good doodh Patti for those who know what I'm talking about. If you are around the area or what to take your friends/family to a nice Pakistani restaurant that is worth heading out for, I highly recommend this place.
Visited with some friends and ate more than I’ve eaten in years! The food is absolutely phenomenal— the okra fries, bun kebab and lamb chops are absolutely to die for. The staff were excellent and made sure everything came quickly and fresh, and that we had everything we wanted. The overall vibe is also very interesting to chill with friends or be on a date! Would come back many many times.
Lovely food and great service. It's not your regular curry house, chef Aida Khan has put in a lot of thought in creating an authentic experience for her customer. My fav is lamb shoulder and palak paneer with sourdough naan.
I have gotten take out once to enjoy with my husband and I have eaten lunch here several times already. The flavours are so addicting! I just love their food, meat and veggie dishes alike. The place is very cute, brightly decorated and the staff super friendly. Yes, they're new and some things are not polished like they would be if running for years but they're no chain and always go the extra miles for their customers. GO SHOLA! We'll be back with the kids too.
Oh my goodness. So tasty. I had the ginger chicken curry and it was absolutely perfect. Fresh, tender, juicy, spicy, zesty delicious food. Can't wait to go back!Food: 5/5
I went to shoal kitchen as the reviews were amazing online however my experience was the complete opposite. as soon as I walked into the restaurant there were rats running around there were fruit flies flying around and I saw one of the waiters stick their hand in their pants and handle the food with it afterwards. as disgusted as I was I still thought id give it a chance and ordered some food. as I ordered there was a kid there with multi coloured nails eating a seekh kebab whilst viciously starving at me in my eyes making me extremely uncomfortable. and I also noticed he also did this to multiple other men which was really odd in my opinion. the food was mediocre at best and I found fingernails in my naan.
Mouthwateringly delicious food in a fantastic space with great ambience and acoustics. Well done Shola - I can't wait to come back.
Food was okay and staff members were nice. Didn't think anything was particularly amazing.
