Recently returned to see this pub since been refurbished. Very nice. We came on mothers day got a table straight away lady at front of house very friendly. Bar staff lovely. Had the vegetarian carvery lovely. Nice too see a substitute to meat and veg gravy. The staff really are a credit this pub cant do enough for you.  Thank you for making us feel welcome.

Went for a Sunday lunch. Affordable food and spacious enough to get a pushchair to the table without being cramped. Got a large carvery and enjoyed every bite!

Fantastic 3 roast dinner 7 days a week. Good  contemporary surroundings. Just been refurbished. Staff very friendly. Kids corner for families and a small play area for the wee ones.

Went to the Shire for lunch today with my two grandchildren and my daughter in law. We sat in the family area and a fight broke out. The language was nothing short of disgusting and we ended up being covered in drink as one person chose to throw their drink over the one they were arguing with. We , naturally, got covered, all the children were crying and screaming as they were frightened. It's a while since I've been and as a result none of us will be going back. Very disappointing.

Foods great as long as you don't mind waiting for it. Service could be faster during quiet times but staff were polite and apologies for delay
