Terrie, Judith, David and the whole team at Shields have been wonderful in helping us through a very difficult time. They handled all details of my mum's funeral with great care and professionalism, and were always available to quickly help with any queries and requests. Shields provided us with a professional and very caring service when dealing with my Dad's funeral. They were extremely sensitive and respectful, and we appreciated their guidance and support. On the day of the funeral they steered us gently through the day, which is exactly what you need on such an emotional occasion.

Shields of Donaghadee supported our family through one of the biggest losses of our lives. Due to the COVID19 pandemic, my Grandmothers funeral in April 2020 was restricted both by number and location. Judith in particular went above and beyond to make sure the funeral was as amazing as it could be in the circumstances. Nothing was too much for Judith. She welcomed any ideas & queries we had and really took the time to listen to the person my Grandmother was, her life & her interests. Judith also managed to secure a piper to play outside which was such a personal touch & a tribute to my Grandmothers Scottish roots. It takes a special kind of person to be able to work in a funeral home & I can honestly say Judith is an absolute star & one in a million. We were blown away by her support & care.

I found Shields to be professional and empathetic. Judith gave my mother such respect and took a personal interest in all the family. This made the whole process so much easier. She thought of absolutely everything from the minister to the church to the burial. What was a difficult time was made as painless as possible.

Through a difficult time they brought calm responses to all our queries and helped us through difficult conversations with huge expertise and compassion. The organisational aspects and the actual conducting of mum's funeral was so impressive. The playing of the piper and the attention and dignity of the funeral director made mum's last journey to see the lighthouse profoundly moving and absolutely just right for our mum. After my mum passed, I went to sheilds my mums wishes they treated so well and with so much compassion and respect. They guided me the whole way, from the moment I met Terrie she made me feel at ease through such a terrible time.
