Let's not bother with the exorbitant fees. We were prepared for that, and knew that a royal fleecing would be in order (which it duly was). What we were NOT prepared for was a questionnaire through the door of my mother's house one week after her funeral asking "how did we do" etc. It really upset my stepfather, and showed a complete lack of empathy. I contacted them about this and they didn't even have the decency to reply.

My name is Wendy Albin and most of my deceased family have been laid to rest from John Gray & co. I have NEVER had ANY problem with ANY aspect of their service. I have seen my granny,my mum,my dad and my aunt all go from John Gray funeral home and was granted my requests in EVERY circumstance. I found the staff to be amiable, polite, respectful, professional and still sympathetic. Isn't that their job? Well in my experiences they have done it very well. I have been to other local funeral homes and witnessed terrible and quite horrific sites in the bodies of relatives after the unspecified homes' mortician finished with them. THESE were circumstances well worth complaining about. However, thankfully John Grays' mortician and make-up artist do a wonderful job and helped me overcome my phobic fear of dead bodies. My dad(God rest him) looked very much alive, healthy and as if he was peacefully sleeping. Thank you to all staff sine 1989 to 2009 at John Gray & Co. Wendy K Albin

Very unhappy about how my dads service was carried out. Requested a non religious service as my father was Atheist as are all his children myself included. The funeral director who performed the service completely disregarded my dads wishes. After the planned service he started to talk about god going as far as saying " The deceased was not a believer of god but now that he is dead he knows the truth and is with god awaiting judgement" I am furious the religious beliefs of the funeral director should be kept to himself and the wishes of the deceased should be respected. Was expecting to grieve for my father not get angry.
