About

Exciting behind the scenes news and images direct from the animal team at Shepreth Wildlife Park throughout the seasons.

Story

Shepreth Wildlife Park first started as a private sanctuary in 1979. WillersMill Wild Animal Sanctuary, as it was known, was a refuge for creatures great and small, including rescued foxes, hedgehogs and badgers, alongside many different species of unlicensed exotics. After care and rehabilitation many were released back into the wild, but where this was not possible, they lived out their life at the sanctuary.

Today, Shepreth Wildlife Park still hosts a busy ‘Hedgehog Hospital’ but also participates in national and international breeding programmes for endangered species. It remains as committed as ever to its animals and conservation, and to educating the next generation of conservationists.

Fabulous day out. Amazing place, I have always loved it there. The bat cave is a Personal favourite. I'd stay Id stay in there all day. Can't recommend this place highly enough. Been going there for over 20 years and it's alway magical.

Fantastic day out. Lots to see and do! The cafe is brilliant with its soft play area along with the outside play area. The kids loved spending the day here, looking at the animals and playing. They were unsure of the bay tunnel with the free flying bays but once in they thought it was amazing! They had never seen bats close up like that before! Cannot recommend this place enough!

Great little park for a day out with small children. The play areas were very popular. Bring some 1 pound coins for the rides and a picnic basket for the best experience. Nice selection of cakes and ice cream for dessert. Would totally recommend it, we are definitely coming back.

Had a fabulous day out with my family despite the cold wet January weather. My daughters 9, 11 & 21 & Granddaughter almost 2 as well as myself & Hubby had a lot of fun. Great array of animals, super friendly & helpful staff made it even better. Enjoyed food & fun at the indoor play area. My favourite thing was meeting Liz & the snake & rat in the discovery centre. Very informative & great to be able to stroke/ hold the animals. It was busier than I'd anticipated for a wet January day but quiet enough that we got to see everything at an easy pace without crowds. Keepers were keen to answer questions about the animals as we went around. Will definitely be back on a drier day to make the most of the outdoor play areas. Thoroughly enjoyed by all 😁

We have now been 3 times in the last year, I guess that says it all. Our son is now two and half and loved it. The only slight downside is they could do with a few more animals.
