A year ago, I put my house on the market. i neded to inform the council thst i will not becrentingvthr proprrty snd its I who will be paying the council tax!. I rang the council several times but they would not respond. five month pregnant and desperate to ensure my reputation as a landlady is intact, I took a train from the neighbouring city, snd paid a taxi fare on top to get to the council building. To my surprise, I found the place had a handful of staff- the building was neatly empty but the council was still open for business, so I was as told! no idea what happened to the friendly staffs- possibly they have been made redundant to save money to pay for the trees they are keen to cut down- who knows?! After ten agonising wait, the unhappy staffs on the customer service pointed me to another lady who seems out of her depth serving many waiting clirnts. she could not help but she offered me a form and she dictated what I told her I wanted- to pay the council some money!! She then FAXED the hand written form to someone somewhere! she said I should get a response in few days but I recieved nothing for 2 weeks. then, God behold, I was reminded that if I don't pay my council tax on time, there will be penalties to pay (or something around that line).... This year I ventured again to ring them to ask them if I should pay the council tax when the house sale will be completed three days after the council tax is due but no luck, no one ever seems to answer the phones!!! I have rang, I promise everyday at different times but no one would pick up the phone!! only yhe answer phone had the decency to tell me off- all the staffs ate busy and the list of people waiting is full!! for goodness sake, all I want is a simple answer to a simple question. and no, the answer to my question is not found on their home page!

SHEFFIELD COUNCIL, and others are now paying back fines they illegally took from motorists. After an investigation it was discovered that decisions to fine were basically a stealth tax, and the councils were not being challenged about the reason or evidence to support the tickets. Sheffield Council had to refund £350,000 to 13,500 motorists. 'Porn Club 'Cover-up' at the Council' SHEFFIELD CITY COUNCIL -- A revealed secret report exposed the sleazy goings-on as council bosses swapped hard porn images in town hall e-mails. Roger Dodds who has now been jailed, who worked in the council until 1993 was involved in their private club which was conducted in the basement of the Education Department. The report said Dodds forced teenagers to engage in lewd sex acts in return for education grants. He was jailed for 16 months. However, 'All evidence of his activity was apparently destroyed?' The police were unable to identify other staff at the council who took part in the club, which is very concerning said the police who said they were still looking for more and would investigate things further.

Shocking council! I've no idea what they do with the money they receive! Take for example the money for resurfacing the roads, they resurfaced some but others are in such a state with massive pot holes! It's embarrassing!

A council committed to withhold information under "data protection" when it suits their agenda. The whole admissions policy is in dire need of a complete overhaul, ensuring parents can place their children at their local school. Current criteria allows anyone to rent a property and not even live there to gain a place, when rock solid evidence is presented it is ignored. I have nothing but utter contempt for the way in which my case was handled.

Shocking service, I spoke with a supposed “manager” called Darren Whittaker regarding a complaint in my area and he was extremely rude and dismissive! He obviously did not take my issue seriously or could be bothered with the hassle?
