First time staying at golden gate, we have stayed in the area on other sites but never tried this one. We have 3 young children under the age of 7 so always look for a child friendly site with plenty of entertainment. Firstly I would like to comment on the staff, the young bar staff at the club are all very attentive and polite. The security on the club are lovely, my little boy suddenly became unwell on the last night and vomited in the club, they where great about it and rushed to get us some water. Fish and chips staff/shop staff are really helpful and chatty and the girl at the swimming fitted us in as we had tried everyday but was told they where fully booked. The swimming is hard to book, I went down the club at 9 in the morning was eventually able to get a slot. The site is clean but it takes a bit of time to navigate around it correctly as it’s so large. It was great for us as a family and we cannot wait to go back, if you’re looking for something a bit quieter it’s probably not for you but it’s very family friendly. Make sure to try jakes beach bar on white house the site next door it feels like you’re in Spain if you get the weather, it’s gorgeous.
NOT FOR FAMILYS We stayed in the adjoining sister site next door so can't comment on there caravans but on our site the facility's where awful in regards to restaurant, evening entertainment, kids activitys/disco etc... so we came here to use there facility's. They were a little better but definitely not good. The club house is clean but more for adults than children. No children entertainment at all apart from 'kids bingo' wich was rubish for the kids. No kids disco etc... the soft play area is small and not very good. Its definitely a site for adults and not for family's with children. Would not return.
Lovely caravans in a nice area, short walk to the beach but we visited out of season so it was very quiet and alot of places were closed still didn't spoil the break away
Good site , friendly staff ,great amenities, club ,sort play ,swimming pool , laundrette , chip shop , football/basketball courts ,entertainment for the kids daily during the holiday and summer months
Quiet enough camp, but out of the way from main attractions. So if walking isn't your thing, find another site closer to what it is you want in a holiday.
got told to take my hat off in the club. the security guards dont pay attention to anything. there was an underage girl drinking and they didnt stop it until they saw it even though multiple people had reported it, a guy walked out with a pint and didnt pay and they also didnt stop him. its away from the beach and everything else. may i also add that nowhere states that they’re recording cctv which is a legal requirement. everyones moody here. The caravan window didn’t shut properly and neither did the door. the boiler didnt work so we had to have cold showers. the bed sheets and pillows had marks on them and they didnt give us any of the things theyre suppose to. i would also like to mention that there is no signal around the whole park so you cant even check banks. in all fairness. golden sands >
Its our 2nd time here and we normally only go abroad so for a UK holiday I really enjoy it the swimming pool is very clean the club house is good aswelly very modern and pretty cheap only down side no air on and it can be like sitting in a oven so take a fan. close to everything around towyn shops, fun fair, big swimming pool, beach, arcades so won't get bored round here Playground: Playground nice and big everything you need for a hours play with the kids Restrooms: Very modern
Would not recommend, the van we were given had a broken shower head ,curtains hanging off the rails , freezer box in the fridge kept defrosting. Just behind our van we had a wire cage in which kids were screaming and kicking footballs from dawn to dusk the noise was so bad we could not relax at the van , also on our first night we decided to go to the club on site for a drink only to be told your not coming in here ,exact words, very rude and impolite could have simply said sorry we are very busy please try a bit later so we spent the week eating and drinking at the site over the road where they were polite and helpful and finally the anpr cameras would not work at the gate so we had to sit and wait until an owner came and put the code in which we weren't given . There are much better in the area so pass this one over and keep looking .
We stay here yearly at the in-laws caravan so unlike those renting, we get the home away from home feel. The site is easy to navigate once you’ve driven around it a few times and for the most part, the site is clean. We always visit in August during the busy period and have never had a problem with noise or rowdy guests. The beach is 5mins walk away over the bridge so if mobility is an issue for you, I’d suggest trying another beach close by. There’s a shop onsite which is a little overpriced, so we usually drive down to Asda which is 10mins away and stock up. A plus, kinmel bay beach is directly next to Asda and much more mobility friendly and sandier. The onsite pool is small and gets busy especially when it’s rainy but the changing rooms aren’t great tbh. They are really small and unisex which we weren’t comfortable with so opted not to use again. We didn’t use the club onsite but we did try the fish and chips at the takeaway once.. it was ok but nothing beats a traditional fish and chip shop. Overall we’d be back but we use the site more as a sleeping base and go adventuring around finding local and hidden spots.
On arrival very misleading to get on to the site not enough signs we did get a nice upgrade on caravan which was good but no bins in the van and toilet is bit of a squeeze but we're comfy beds pool was a let down went twice after booking in one day and was told it closing but people were in a HR later and the club is a site for single men hit on women the door lman did make him leave but he was hanging around afterwards it should be holiday users only as it made us very feel horrible and horrible atmosphere but other than that ok should be more bins I agree with the other people the club seating and just letting anyone in needs addressing glad for the upgrade but don't think shall return to golden gate
