An impromptu visit whilst we were in Broadstairs. As we were walking past with our dog, the door was open and I happened to ask if they allowed dogs to which they said yes . So the 4 of us plus Shadow bundled in and had the best Fish & Chips we’ve had for quite a while, it was better than our own decent local F&C shop. The Fish was perfectly cooked, not greasy not dry, as were the chips. Burgers, meat and veggie were available as an alternative also, I’m sure they would have been cooked just as well too! The pricing was no more higher than any other seaside eateries we’ve been to and bearing in mind the seasonal struggles of sea side businesses, was more than reasonable. The young lady serving us was polite, helpful and efficient and even offered and provided us water for Shadow. We loved the decor, it was a traditional style & with some great fishy murals, I assume painted by a local artist. The vintage condiment holders on each table were a lovely touch I wish I’d taken a picture but you can see some on eBay, vintage Heinz condiment holders. The whole restaurant was clean and tidy, including the facilities, of which there are 2. Together with the great weather we had, it was all in all a perfect seaside day.
Lovely food and staff. Delicious haddock and chips. The chips were really nicely cooked and so moreish. The staff are really friendly and go out of their way to offer you service. Would absolutely come back here!Food: 5/5
Good fish n chips! Massive portion sizes in my opinion.. Very filling. Ordered haddock and chips and prawn, scampi and chips. Everything was fried nice and crispy. We had a banana fritter for dessert and unfortunately the banana was not ripe/sweet enough, although it was also fried perfectly. We dined in as a large group and the waitress was lovely and attentive. Would recommend.
Popped in on my own after a brief walk around Broadstairs. Greeted by friendly staff member, who politely saw me to my table. Decor was very drab, with a couple of drawings of 'Finding Nemo' cartoon fish on the wall. One table was littered with take away boxes and cleaning bottles/wipes? Alot of the walls were not even painted or half painted? I ordered Cod Fish Bites & Chips, with a can of Coke. It arrived quite promptly and nice & hot. I was a bit put off by the open squeezy bottle of Tartar Sauce, but dived in to eat. Unfortunately, I found the batter on the fish to be a bit soggy & slimey, not crisp and light. The chips were very small and hard, with sharp edges, and a bit tastless. The whole place looked like it needed a good lick of paint and clean. Spring has just started, so I hope it'll be ready for the Summer. As I said, the gentleman who served me was very polite and friendly, but at £15.00 for my fish & chips and a can of coke, I found this price to be a bit high for the quality of food.
We had a lovely fish supper with a chilled white wine. The chips and cod, very crispy and not greasy at all. Friendly service too. We highly recommend the Seafarer and will visit again when next in Broadstairs.
Really disappointing size of cod, it was a similar size to two fish fingers put end to end in a sad, weird tasting and mainly empty batter shell. The chips were ok. The battered sausages were also tiny. I would not come here again as I don't think it's very good value for money.
We got two small portions of chips, personally thought they were a bit pricey considering but that’s okay. Tasted great and perfect amounts of salt and vinegar.Food: 5/5
Awful food! Mushy horrible cheesy chips at £4.50 !!!! The saveloy was sooo bad my son refused to eat it, we tried giving it to the seagulls and even they wouldn't eat it! Waste of money, overpriced and horrible food. Do not recommend
Great fish and chips- freshly made. I had large cod and chips for £11.90 and there is an OAP Special- small cod, chips and a cup of tea or coffee for £8.50
Absolutely brilliant. Excellent fish and chips - and nice staff.... Highly recommend.Food: 5/5
