First time eating at Scoffs yesterday and I was thoroughly impressed. I ordered the Pulled pork, stuffing, gravy and chips which came in a tray and was absolutely delicious, the portion for a small could feed two people and they do orange chips which are my favourite. I'm going back in a few days to order it again as it was that good! Can't stop thinking about it nGood old fashioned English chippy. The ladies that served me were friendly and provided great service with a smile. The place was clean and had other things on the menu which I will try such as Pulled chicken or Pulled pork baps. The quality of the Pulled pork was superb and the amount of it that they piled onto the chips was very generous. The gravy tasted good and was hot. I highly recommend Scoffs Fish and chips.
So bad tonight to be honest. Ordered 2 pieces of chicken, got 1. Ordered large chips...cold. Donner kebab...hardly worth having. And to top it off I had to wait over an houranda half! So disappointed as the weather was so hot, I couldn't face cooking. Hope I get some kind of refund because, it really weren't nice
On a visit to my family we decided on choosing a chippy tea. The only local one open was scoffs. I was unaware everything is cooked in beef dripping. As a vegetarian I find it unbelievable there was no option for me to eat. Even vegetarian and halloumi burgers! There was no notices anywhere to inform anyone of this.nMy family had their chippy tea and I resorted to a greggs sandwich. Very annoying and unacceptable in 2025.
Visited this chip shop recently and unfortunately, it missed the mark. The chips were noticeably hard and overcooked—more like crisps than the fluffy, golden fries you'd expect. As for the bag kebab, it was underwhelming. The meat was dry, lacking seasoning, and the presentation felt rushed. Even the salad seemed tired, and the sauce couldn’t save it. Service was passable but didn’t make up for the food quality. It’s a shame, as the place has potential with a decent location and menu variety. Hopefully, they improve consistency soon, because right now it’s not worth a return visit.

April 2025nnIt's same as any other mediocre chippy, the man who serves people is grumpy and unhygienic, I prefer it when the women serve me, the chips otherwise taste nice, price is about average.
