Now it's almost impossible to see a doctor at Saxonbury? Email sent to the surgery:-nnTo Whom It May Concern,nnI am writing to express my deep frustration with your e-consult system, which is failing patients in urgent need of care. I suffer from a knee condition that is causing me considerable pain. Upon completing the e-consult form, I was advised to call the practice at 01892 603131.nnFollowing this guidance, my wife contacted the practice, only to be informed that no further e-consult appointments were available and that our only option was to go to A&E. At my age, I am reluctant to add to the strain on emergency services and endure long waits for an issue that is neither an accident nor a medical emergency—I simply need to see a doctor to determine whether my symptoms indicate the onset of arthritis.nnThe e-consult response also suggested calling 111, which we did via their online service. Their recommendation? Contact the surgery as soon as possible today. Yet, this highlights a serious issue: Saxonbury now seems unable to book doctor appointments over the phone, making it increasingly difficult—if not impossible—for patients to access the care they need.nnI urge Saxonbury to address this concerning lack of local patient care. I await your prompt response.nnYours sincerely,
Like many I joined this medical practice recently.nThey use the e-consult software system to request an appointment which is used as a triage system for this extremely busy practice.nDuring my limited time with Saxonbury this is the only area of concern I have encountered and, as they have only recently transferred to the system back in March’25, I am sure the hard working practice manager will be working on improving the processthe reason for giving 4 rather than 5 stars.nOnce through that first process I have found the Centre itself to be extremely clean and well organised.nThe staff are some of the best I have ever come across in the NHS - they are extremely caring, professional, and knowledgeable individuals who obviously care deeply about the care they provide their patients - from Health Care workers to Phlebotomists, GPs to Practice Nurses; Wonderful.nOnce that bit of AI technology gets refined it’ll be the best - please be patient with the reception staff until then. Front of Office staff often bare the brunt of our frustrations.
I have be a patient at Saxonbury House for many many years and my experience is that the staff from the reception to the senior partners are helpful caring, professional and positive. On my last two visits over the previous few months they did more than I expected. It was on a personal basis. But it is a two way street. Recognise the limitations that the group have to work within. You may have to wait on the telephone for over 20 minutes to get through for an appointment. But they are busy. Be polite.nPeter Jeffery
It’s Monday I phoned the surgery at 8am was put through to a helpful receptionist.nBy 8.50 the wonderful caring Nurse Practitioner phoned and prescribed treatment.nWonderful caring practice. Thank younSue
Really disappointing experiences that have finally resulted in my moving doctors. I had finally thought I had a found a good doctor there but sadly not. Some lovely girls in reception but one particular one extremely condescending and rude. Can’t get an appointment, definitely not a follow up appointment. Whilst I appreciate the pressure NHS is under it doesn’t mean you can be rude or make people feel like they are asking too much to try and get better and see their healing journey through not just one appointment and a handful full of tests with a receptionist feeling capable of discussing with you as if they are the doctors themselves. Calling at 8am is not possible for most of us who are working. We do not have the time to sit on hold to not get an appointment. Really sad to see this surgery change and go downhill from what was a good one I had been a patient of for many years.
