Having had contact with a number of GP surgeries in the past, especially now I care for my elderly parents who attend this GP practice, I can honestly say that Dr, Davis, Dr, Hester and Dr. Golton are the best. They are old fashioned doctors. They give you time. They listen. You feel that you are being treated as person with a soul and not a number. I have had on several occasions reason to ring them needing quick answers reagrding my parents and they have fallen over backwards to help. The receptionists are always as helpful as they can be, given their limitations, but always do their best to help. as for the ease in getting an apointment, I undertand that in general throughout the country many have a much harder job than I do - but usually, if you ring on the day early, you can get an appoinmtment and if urgent they will do their best to fit you in. I have used the e-consult system and while I do not think it is a good way to doctor - face to face has to be best every time - given the pressures facing doctors these days it can have its place for small niggles. Thank you for all that you do.
Extremely extremely bad and rude admin/secretary. I am in the process of asking for a copy of the telephone call from the practice manager to lodge a formal complaint. They would under no circumstances provide me with their name. Family members are also complaining about the NHS. I believe they are rude to patients to get them to lose their patience so they can put the phone down. Unfortunately for them I didn't fall in their trap, keep calm is my advice, use meditation and if you can record the phone call at your end. Don't fall in the trap that's what they want. Move abroad if you got the money :
Terrible Doctors surgery been told incorrect information by Steven Braithwaite, which caused the illness to get even worse. Also, getting told "if it's that bad go to a&e" - This is for the receptionist, a&e actually stands for accident & emergency, so shouldn't be used if we need to see a GP. Don't go here.
I find all the staff and doctors really nice and very efficient, I am so lucky to have joined this surgery.
It used to be a fantastic practice 8 years ago, but over the last 2 years the quality has declined, both in terms of care and appointments and admin. Getting an appointment to see a GP is very difficult and frustrating. If you phone later than 8am, you can forget it for that day, you won't get an appointment even when you get through after the interminable recorded intro message to be no. 25 in line and wait on the phone for 45 minutes. You cannot book an appointment for a future date. That's the NHS these days, November 2022.
I have been with the practice a year and cannot fault them. Always seen in a timely manner. All staff members I have met have been helpful and efficient. The econsult system is a great addition to general practice - quick follow ups and frees up the phones for people who actually need appointments on the day. There is constant bad press around primary care settings adding unnecessary pressures but this is the best GP practice I have ever had. Thank you!
I must have been a member of more than 10 surgeries over the years and I've never had a problem here that wasn't the same anywhere else. In fact, it's probably my favourite so far. The doctors are very likeable, which I think is important, and the receptionists, though always busy are sometimes even fun! I think you reap what you sow in life :
The appointments system is a complete and utter joke. I tried to using their online appointment booking tab but it doesn't work. So I thought it would be easy to ring in and book an appointment for next week, only to be told "oh no we can't do that - you have have to call on the same day as the hoped-for appointment - and by the way we don't have any today". Brutal!
Very sleepy surgery which in our experience is persistently bad at time-keeping. Our appointment was over an hour late, and then finally we were seen by a doctor with extremely poor people skills mumbled and spoke very little - seemed disinterested who eventually palmed us off elsewhere, so there was no point even going! Registered here because it was close to home, but now considering registering elsewhere in case there's a chance to get some decent service.
I would give 0 if I could! REALLY AWEFUL! I’ve been trying to get an appointment for weeks and I can never managed. They want you to call on this date and at this time to book an appointment like as if I’m going to meet someone super special. I’m only trying to get an appointment so I can be helped with my very over due issues. I kept calling yesterday until I got finally through and some lady told me to call them today at 8am to book an appointment once again, which is already super weird that you can’t even book an appointment when you really need one And then here I am calling them today at 8am on Friday as I was told to do so. So far I’ve called them 18x times as it says that they’re opened but they’re just lying and are not opened at all! It keeps on saying that they’re not opened even though it says that they are opened on Google and their opening times. This is the worst GP I’ve ever came across. I’ve never managed to get not a single one appointment. Their booking system is utterly unworkable. I’ve never been more frustrated because of a GP. If you have a choice to choose another one which I don’t then do yourself the favour.
