Great First Visit – We’ll Definitely Be Back!nnTried The Saxon King for the first time today and what a pleasant surprise! The pub is modern, well laid out, and full of character. It was busy but had a really nice atmosphere. There’s a good choice of drinks, and the food was absolutely delicious.nnWe asked for potatoes without herbs or garlic, and the kitchen happily made them fresh for us — a really nice touch. Prices are reasonable for the quality, and with the 40% discount on mains, it made our meal even better value.nnA big thank you to our server, Vicky, and all the team for looking after us so well. Highly recommend this place — we’ll definitely be returning!
Vicky out waitress was fantastic, helpful and friendly! Food was fabulous, tasty and plenty of it. Drinks I would say are a little pricey though large wine being £9.75. We had a lovely, relaxed dinner. Would definitely go again!
Excellent pub/ restaurant.nBusy on the Sunday I booked but that's a credit to the venue.nFood was delicious, I had a duo of lamb , which was a little lamb pie and lamb slices, with veg, potatoes etc.nWell worth the wait.nThe staff are brilliant and earn every penny as always on the go.nI will be back
I had booked a table in the bar as I had my dog with me. We noted the sign asking us to wait to be seated. We waited for ages to be greeted, despite several staff walking past and not acknowledging us. Eventually we were seated in front of the fire, which was too hot for my dog. I went to the bar to order food and drink and waited for such a long time. Before I was even served I heard the bar staff tell another customer that the food wait was 45 mins. We were not told this when we had been seated. All the staff looked miserable and like they didn't want to be there, so we left.
