A great place for live music and beer! Chinns has lots of acts, some local, some big so it's worth keeping an eye on their social media to see who's playing. There's a pool table in the front bar and a cloakroom in the venue and you can get pizza from the front bar too. Its worth knowing that if you're coming for a gig, the venue door is to the right of the pub outside. Look for the security guard and the double doors. I've spent many a great night here, definitely good for crowds and especially if you're into rock music!

This place really surprised me, I've often walked past it during Summers at Southend and it was full of dubious clientele. The venue attached is a mini Brixton Academy and has seen it's fair share of up and coming artists. Had AC great night there, moved to the pub after. Got promptly thrown out for having far too much already. Fair play.

Decent pub, went on a trip to southend and was surprised at how quiet it was on a Saturday night so we went to this place. There were live singers and it seemed as if it were a birthday celebration. Nonetheless they still allowed us to participate. Drinks were fairly cheap and the pub felt warm and inviting until a fight broke out bear the bar amongst the locals.

Great pub, decent prices. Location on seafront is good. Has a music venue attached to it. Promenade seating while you drink. Friendly staff.

Consistent quality of sound and service. Excellent support to artists and promoters. Great pull for bigger names.
