We've had lovely fish and chips from here in the past. However, on the last two occasions, they have been awful. Yesterday, the majority ended up in the bin. Is the Haddock actually Haddock here or is a cheaper alternative? Or, is it frozen? Either way, it was wet, grey looking underneath and had a slimy texture. It was also too greasy and the battery wasn't crispy, it was soggy. Savages, you just lost a good customer and it'll be a long time before we try your fish and chips again.
This is the first time I have tried fish and chips from here, and quite honestly? I am surprised at the quality and the value for money of their products!nnI usually use a different chip shop, but there is no comparison with this 'top nosh,' especially their teatime haddock special £11 for 2 haddock specials with sides at the time of writing. Staff were very friendly and shop was immaculate. They also take orders online for pickup and accept cards/contactless.nnCrisp white fish, well cooked chips and lovely curry and mushy peas! This value and quality cannot be beaten!nnHighly recommend and they have won over a new customer!
Just called for our dinner after reading the good reviews but both myself and my husband are very disappointed. First thing we noticed after getting it home was how much oil there was on it.It had come through the wrapping and the paper carrier bag supplied. We were staying at The White Hart for 3 nights this week and chose takeaway fish & chips as the pub does not serve food on Tuesday nights.nnWhat a wonderful experience this was! We ordered x2 small fish & chips and x 1 mushy peas which came to £12.95 in total, an absolute bargain and really good quality delicious food. We chatted to the lovely owners, staff & locals whilst waiting and had a great time! We were made to feel very welcome and we had exceptional customer service. A quality establishment and a joyful experience. We will return!
We called in for haddock and chips on Friday night, the food was well cooked and tasty. We chose the small fish and chips and it was a good size portion which we enjoyed. Very good value for money.
