Went today 5th September. At 5.30 Service was awful. Served by two young disrespectful little school girls. Drinking on the job. Not bothered about the customers. And acted like they despised serving people. Only one nice lady checking on tables. Waited ages for our dessert. Had to cancel order, no apology, no care given. Only bad attitude. A couple walked out because no staff member approached their table to ask if they needed help ordering. Food was good,. Cocktails nice. Shame about the poor service.
You can taste the improvement in the dishes it’s screaming NEW CHEF and I’m here for it. Not a fan of all the cocktails hmm there’s something missing. The dishes are delicious I’ve been here more than 5 times and I love it.Food: 5/5
A great bowl of Nasi Gorengl! Tasty bowl of my favourite Asian food, hot temperature, mildly spiced, nice flavours, fresh well cooked ingredients, friendly staff, nice atmosphere. And lunch deal, main course including a tasty fruit punch £12 !
Visited with a friend for their lunchtime deal which consisted of a very limited menu and a drink alcoholic or non-alcoholic, I chose the chicken shogun rice and a rum punch for the beverage. The shogun rice was bland and the small pieces of chicken breast were undercooked, the portion was small and served in a bowl. I asked for salt and even with the addition of the salt it lacked flavour, very disappointing. The rum punch was however quite nice and refreshing especially after the dryness of the rice. There is also a bad fruit fly issue, you cannot sit in peace without small flies attacking your food and drink. We were served by an Asian lady who had no customer service whatsoever. I had to call her several times to get her attention and what an enormous task that was. She clearly did not want to be there and had absolutely NO desire to attend to anybody there. My friend and I wanted another drink and after catching her attention she gestured to me to wait and that was it, she never bothered coming over again. I asked her colleague possibly her manager for another drink and explained briefly that I had asked the lady previously and he didn’t seem interested at all, no apology. Also we were given a Happy Hour menu for drinks and then told it wasn’t happy hour, why give a happy hour menu then? That was the last straw, we got up and decided to go elsewhere and was quite happy to go Turtle Bay just down the road where Happy Hour runs until 6.30pm daily and then starts again at 9.30 and the service and overall vibe was impeccable. Satay Bar has clearly had its day, they don’t appreciate custom and how they’ve survived this long is anybody’s guess. I would never visit this place again.
Lovely experience, we were served very quickly and the food was delicious and hot! I liked the fact that you could order from your phone. Music was good and door security were friendly.Food: 5/5
Had a late lunch here. It was quiet with a few customers on my arrival. Whilst looking at the menu a lot more diners arrived. The food arrived very soon after, we had placed our orders. It was all very tasty, I could have done with a bit more spice on mine, though. We ordered several cocktails which just as lovely as the food. The waitresses and bartender were all welcoming, pleasant and attentive. The only downside here, was the female restroom which was not very pleasant to use. It is in need of maintenance and should be appropriately sanitised all the time.
Lovely food presentation, good taste and vibesFood: 4/5
It was ok,thou we had to wait a bit longer to get our cocktail...but the ambiance is not bad ... And they played Davidounavailable Ahhhh they finally brot the cocktails So I had the satay magic... U should try it...
The most disgusting cocktail I’ve ever had. 6 of us couldn’t drink our drinks. The barman told us it’s just how they make them and that’s that. Absolutely terrible. AVOIDFood: 1/5
Came to the satay bar today for easy lunch with my family after our ceremony in Townhall. The atmosphere was warm, friendly, the waitress was amazing hospitality and the bartender lady believe her name was Rahema drinks making skills was on par my mum loved it complimented her there on the spot. We enjoyed drinks and service so much we ordered more drinks and food and we weren’t disappointed by the standards !!
