Relocated to UK, asked to open a new bank account with them and they booked an appointment after 3weeks: anyway, they told me I was in possess of all the documents/papers required to open the account. After 3 weeks, at the appointment, the woman was late, and they left me wait for 1hour. Then, the young black lady told me the other woman (3weeks before) has been wrong, and forgot to tell me I also need another paper, which take 1 week to arrive at home. After asking if, as proof of address, they would accept just a confirmation from my company (really big uk company, 10k employees) as other banks do, she told me, in a rude way, to go to other banks then, if I prefer so. And so I have done. 3 weeks wasted awaiting for this, in the end. Really rude and unprepared staff. 1st bank which suggested me to bring my money elsewhere.

Very rude staff. I went to the counter and I asked how I can open a current account, and she told me "visit our website, I do not want to waste my time by explaining you". By the way I was the only customer in the branch and there was not any queue. She was a young black lady on the counter.

The team at the Hatfield branch set the benchmark standard that some of the other branches of Santander should learn from and follow, they are extremely professional and know their products and services and their experience and knowledge is fantastic. If you have an issue or problem, it is taken away and dealt with and they do call you back like they say they will, unlike other branches(Saint Albans). The counter staff are always polite, professional and treat you with the upmost respect at all times at the Hatfield branch, with a service" with a smile" and always go out their way to ensure you - the customer is satisfdied and happy with the service. My local branch is St.Albans, but due to the bad service, attitude and on one particular ocassion very rude cashier, I now prefer to do my counter banking at the Hatfield branch , where the cashier and floor staff know how to communicate and treat new and current customers. Im in all the time banking and its always a pleasure to deal with the staff at the Hatfield branch. Keep up the great service Hatfield Team! Take Care Mr Jack Russell -:)
