I moved in to a rented house on my own in the area for a job. I spent the first three months paying double council tax because they somehow decided I had purchased a second home, after writing to several Councillors, the Council and my employer contacting them they removed the 200% penalty and rightly applied the single person discount as I am alone. Now a week after sorting that out they have removed the the discount with no explaination. I'm too worried to ask why in case they double it again or something so am just going to have to pay it. Will move out in December and certainly won't live in that council area again, what an awful council.
Moved into this property 3 years ago to a fault gas metre,a lock on the back door with no hold to lock it in? Faulty electric switches and no running hot water that took 2 weeks to sort out in itself not to mention the ongoing issue till this day of a leaking pipe in the wall of the bathroom which has gradually got worse ever since the filler in the wall has fell out twice numerous call outs, with wrong resources to be told this will require a plumber which has been stated numerous times had an inspector out who took photos, all I got was the wall filled back up which is not broken down and ready to collapse again 5 months later moved into this flat and was told it was ready clearly was far from it, now the wall is ready to collapse my bath is constantly leaking to the point where I cannot use it I have to use a family members, finally got told they would be sending someone out Friday to get this sorted once and for all yet again no suprise it was moved to 2 days earlier without me even giving consent left me a voice mail which said they will be moving it had my elderly sick father wait here all day to which no one came. So they move your apportionments forcefully and don’t even attend to which i was told the same old bs on the phone they will get somebody else to look into this and get it sorted- considering they want to harass you about council tax and rent so badly they don’t give any sort of service in fixing a bathroom that they gave to me in such a bad state if I could rate them any lower I would this council has caused me nothing but grief if you can private rent do it
You should be absolutely disgusted with yourselves!nWe pay council tax and for what exactly. I put plastic plates in my recycle bin bareing in mind they were right on top I didnt realise these could not go in but rather than taking the plates out and emptying the rest of the bin they just leave it full to the brim!nNow for a household of 4 including 2 kids under 5 what the he'll am I meant to do for another 2 weeks!
Absolutely DIABOLIC customer service line. Rubbish AI that is basically a barrier to gaining any human contact. You can try all the options and AI is constantly pointing towards the website but the website for council tax has been broken for about 14 days.....as a new Sandwell Council resident this is DAUNTING. Is this what I should expect for my time under this council?! RIDICULOUS.
It seems the more council tax you pay the less they do!nSo the the bin collection is every 2 weeks now and on the very first week the do not collect my bin.nCannot get hold of anyone to sort it out.nDo they expect me to wait another 2 weeks with festering food in my bin.
