Its a pain to get an appointment sometimes, its a pain to even get treatment my GP said they’ll be referring me but I had to chase twice on this process, and twice the referral was not out forward despite being told it would be So, yes its disappointing at times. However, this surgery has also come through for me when I needed it, getting me last minute appointments . The receptionist are really helpful as well. My partner is registered with another surgery in Leighton Buzzard and differences are very noticeable. Very happy to be registered here and I hope they continue to be open despite the NHS mess we see ourselves in today.
Sporadically move around appointments and delay you. Had to see 4 different nurses and put on a 1+ year waitlist after finally a doctor saw me and determined I was in `urgent` need of a specialists advice + likely an operation. Went private at great expense and they said if I'd left it any later would have been unrecoverable...
Once you manage to see a doctor they are really helpful. But good luck with getting through the rudest receptionist ever! On number of occasions I was dismissed and informed that there is no appointments for the day and when my partner called few minutes later got the face to face appointment same morning. Shall I add I speak with accent and my partner is English? We witnessed on each occasion when in surgery the change in behaviour and service provided is so noticeable that makes you uncomfortable hearing how she address people speaking with accent and how dismissive she is. It’s shocking to know any place tolerate this kind of behaviour
As is the case with all GP surgeries nowadays you have to call at 8am and keep calling back one after the other to get even onto the on hold list which is only 20 callers. This takes about 5 minutes usually when Ive done it. Once you are through to the top 20 you tend to have another 30-45 minute wait. However, once you speak to the receptionist they are friendly and I've never had a problem getting an appointment for myself or my children. The doctors are professional, kind , throrough and knowledgeable. Always happy with the care we receive.
Absolute hell! I get panic attacks just at the thought of being in touch and only get in touchif my pain is too unbearable. I have a chronic condition which brings numerous health issues and it's walking distance to my house, so I keep going there as I don'thave a car. Trying to get an appointment is hell. Being in touch with the receptionists makes hell sound like paradise. The GPs are mostly locums and you're just a number, treating one symptom per appointment, so if you have a condition that brings multiple symptoms you have to book double appointments, but OH WAIT; you can't book appointments in advance, so you become the receptionists' worst nightmare and they yours.
In the mornings the line just disconnects. I waited 45 minutes after a txt prompt to book an appointment. I was told they will call me in the afternoon. Now they are shut and I'm left hanging with abnormal blood test results. The MK hospital urgent care unit advised them to refer me to a specialist, which they keep delaying upon sight of the blood test results. On a previous occasion they had me have a hearing test, and told me that I will get referred to Luton hospital for further test. Never got my referral letter. When I complained they told me it can take a month, so I waited 2 month. When I phoned them again, that the referral is still missing, they claimed that they have no record of me ever attending their hearing test in the first place and they lost all the initial results with the inhouse specialist. But they can book that in for me again, so she can refer me to the hospital again....I never went back with this.
I want to say thank you to all the staff at Salisbury House. There is huge demand on GP surgeries at the moment, but both my husband and I have received excellent care since we have moved to this surgery. The receptionists have been extremely helpful, the nurse team kind and caring and the doctors have been thorough and supportive and gone over and above. Keep going, you ate all doing an incredible job.
I have been with this surgery for nearly 40 years. They have always been professional and friendly. The only reason I have given 4 stars is because its difficult to get through via the phone, but that is not their fault, it is definitely not because of the surgery. I find they are brilliant and I have never had a problem.
This doctors is a joke, my 80 year old nan has been trying to call since 8, every time she phoned it was getting hung up she tried another 7 times till 8:15 when they finally had there phones turned on, she didn’t get through to anybody till 9:15 to then be spoken to very rudely, the receptionist has no manners at all, and shouldn’t be allowed to work with the public, I then took the phone off my Nan and tried to ask is there any appointments for later in the day as I know sometimes you can call back mid day and see if there’s any cancellations, to be told no you won’t get an appointment then just hung up on me! I will making a more formal complaint, but I say they need new staff!
Really annoyed with this surgery today. I’ve been on a lower dose of a medication and haven’t needed to pay for another prescription for a couple of months and apparently I need to call up at 8am to talk with a doctor despite being on my tablets for 3 years. The fact that we still have to call up at 8am for any sort of appointment is proof of how broken the system is. Useless reception ladies.
