Great little store. Great for buying that Oh i forgot to get item whilst your cooking your tea. Great selection of fresh breads & pastries, dairy, fruit n veg. All main staples available here.
I guess someone on the security team didnt like the look of me because I got followed out by a security guard accusing me of stealing something when I didnt. Didnt even get an apology even after they checked my bag, receipt and that I had nothing in my pockets. Will definitely not be going back.
When compared to Aldi it's costly. Small store with all groceries and vegetables available. On the main junction of withington. Cash and card accepted.Little parking space available but you can park side road parking.
Never bring the things you ask for when ordering on deliveroo and uber eats.
Love this building. It's a gem in didsbury, beautiful and elegant. This large building was once the White Lion Hotel see the white lion on the tower, otherwise called the Withington Ale House. It is a Grade II Listed building. There was a previous building on this site, built sometime in the C18th, also called the White Lion, which was probably altered or rebuilt in 1840. The present building has an inset on the north wall chimney exterior with a date of 1880. The renovations to incorporate a mini-supermarket took place in 2010/11. Much of the old interior has been preserved, including some fine stained glass and, in the basement, a well. There is a yard at the rear with a coach-house. Formerly white lion Hotel now sainsbury's local.
