Good job clerk you ruined my day. He was trying to give me a hard time after I answered I was from Taiwan. He asked me whether I was paying altogether (with a bottle of beer for my dad beside me) and after I said yes, he said no selling alcohol to below 25 (I was 21). Then I asked my dad to pay but he kept repeating "you said you will pay so I cannot sell it to your dad either". That's ridiculous. Just looked up the Internet and found the alcohol limit is actually 18. Feel like being deceived. I would be glad to rerate if I misunderstood something about the law.

I find this Sainsbury's a pleasant place to get provisions when I am in town. However, I was somewhat annoyed with the service yesterday (early Fri. morning). The assistant at the counter had to put up with a customer who bought very little (something like £1.50 for a chocolate bar) and gave him a £20.00 note. My turn was next and the assistant immediately told me to use an automatic machine. However, I had exactly £2.00 for my sandwich, comprising of 2 £1.00 coins. He reluctantly accepted the coins as my payment, but he had no right whatsoever to direct me to the automatic machines. For a start, I was the only customer there. The assistant evidently took out his frustration with the previous customer on me.
