We used Smart Shop using a phone. You start by scanning a QR code to get going. The code is 'hidden' on a pillar near a sales counter as you enter the store. No where's near prominent enough and we had to ask a member of staff where it was the technology worked brilliantly after that. The scanning of barcodes was very very efficient. However using the same self checkouts as basket users when you have a large trolley is not pleasant. Unlike many stores there is no self- checkouts for large trolleys. However a quick scan of the QR code on the screen, payment followed and we were on our way. First time I have used my phone for Smart Shop -i was pretty impressed.
Recently I started walk in to the store as multiple times I ordered deliveroo from this store. It's a large shop with a wide variety of products! Plus they have a smart shop app you can use to scan things right away which I find convenient when not allways is a price available for a desired product... It's fun to shop and I spend an hour in the store as I might be considering a wondering person through most of the aisles to have all my options and be aware of the offerings.nThey have own bakery for breads .
Refuse to open more checkouts.nHave to wait an eternity or go to self check out with a trolly full of shopping.nMust do better, or my weekly will go elsewhere.nnThought I'll try again. It's got worse. I do not want to use self-service tills.
You will find at least 90% of the stuff you will ever need from a supermarket. Good variety of products and all nicely organised on their separate isles. One thing that bothers me is that sometimes there is a lack of eggs on the shelves. Rather than that all great.
Layout of the store is refreshing they have some good deals but other items are just to overly priced. Staff are nice not feeling the barriers where u have to use your receipt to get out or leave Sainsbury's I feel like I'm in prison. I understand if Sainsbury's have had bad experience of people stealing to have the barriers in place if that's the case have better security and not everyone that comes to the store steals.nOverall love this Sainsbury's
