It was marvellous! We were served by Aga on the coffee machine and got the impression that she really loved her work. Food was punctual, and was spiffing. The bread came pre-buttered to an outstanding standard. The meat was of good quality and the egg was well fried, the hash brown was crispy and the mushroom was just perfect. The beans were delicious as well. The food on the whole was hot and delightful! The coffee was really nice and hot. The tea was great- I enjoyed that you could pour your own milk. This wonderful cafe is a splendid place to take your family for a relaxing breakfast. Kid-friendliness: The staff are loving and caring towards the children.
Unbelievably slow. Waited 30 mins to be told they had run out of jacket potatoes for the kids meal. What did arrive was overcooked and cold, but it didn't really matter as our daughter had already filled up on snacks by that point. There was one polite member of staff, the rest were grumpy. Thought it might be OK here but was terrible. Judging from the other reviews it looks like they should just close this café
Service is terribly slow. We waited 10 minutes just to place an order and then told we had a 25 minute wait for food. Not enough staff, one person making hot drinks, one on the tills but they are then distracted with serving reheated food like toasted sandwiches etc so the queue builds up and it all moves so slowly. This has been going on for ages; management really need to look at it
Waited far too long in the cafe having ordered just 1 meal.Had to chase up after 30 mins and no more than 6 people in the cafe at the time.Pity as it has such potential and the food is of good quality when it finally arrives hence 2 stars.
Same as all the other reviews... Ordered food and sat there for over 45mins waiting. Absolute joke!! It wasn't particularly busy. Nothing on a basic fry up takes 45 minutes to cook. Not sure what they get up too in that kitchen but someone needs sacking and replacing. Wouldn't go there again.
First and last time using this cafe tables dirty long wait and food awful. Only ordered a fish finger sandwich the worst I have ever seen or eaten what an awful let down for Sainsburys
As with any supermarket café one was never going to be blown away by the food, the atomosphere, or the décor. Nevertheless, on paper, it's a fairly cheap and easily accessible place to eat with food that is... fine? I guess? It's serviceable with nothing to condone or condemn but the wait for the food and the temperature of it is always a gamble. The seating is also fine, with locations usually being clear and clean but this again is subject to change depending on how busy it is and how strong the employees' coffee was this morning. All of this might lead to an unimpressive, but respectable, 2.5/5 if it weren't for the service. I'm not one of those people who demands "service with a smile", getting all offended because the attendant wasn't enamoured by my resplendent entrance into their budget establishment. What I do object to is being called a liar straight in front of me. I ordered a cooked breakfast and when asked "any drinks?" I said "fruit tea, please". When I went to the drinks station and gave my order the lady looked very flustered and went off to find the fruit teabags. She then asked the attendant on the till where to find them, whereby the attendant responded "I ain't put no fruit tea through, see? she shows a receipt It's 10p more than normal tea. He's trying to have you on, but serve him anyway". They were only about 2 metres away from me, inexplicably referring to me in the third person, accusing me of some dastardly plan to rob poor old Sainsbury's and dupe the hapless workers out of 10 entire British pennies. I would have gotten away with it too if it weren't for those meddling OAPs. Now if Sainsbury's wants to staff their eatery entirely with people who look like leather coin purses that's fine by me. But don't be surprised when their decrepit bodies mishear information. Then, don't be surprised when their lobster brain gets all defensive about the mistake they made. Furthermore, don't be surprised if they snip at the customer as a response. Finally, don't be surprised when nobody comes back.
I can’t comment about the food. But for a coffee was served by a very friendly Amy.
Tables needed to be cleaned. Otherwise good food and quickly served.Food: 5/5
Our planned choice of café Tesco's was very busy, so me and my partner decided to try Sainsburys. From here on it goes downhill. When we arrived at Sainsbury's café, I ordered scrambled egg and bacon on toast. My partner ordered a sausage and bacon sandwich. We both ordered hot drinks. We took our table number card and sat down. After a good 20-25 minutes of sitting down waiting, I decided to go back up to the counter and ask what was going on. The two ladies who took my money and acknowledged my order, literally laughed when I asked where my drinks were, then told me they were watching, wondering when I was going to collect them..... No sorry, no instruction to wait in a certain area for the drinks when I ordered.. Just a rude response which was completely baffling considering there was no signage, or verbal instructions from any server or staff to collect or wait for them. What made it even worse, there was clearly a number of staff who literally had to walk past the hot drinks area to go to the kitchen, at no point did they think to come over and let me know how they operate. As for the food, the bacon looked like it had been cooked over a heated debate rather than a oven. The scrambled egg portion was on par with a ration book, and by the time I had finished standing waiting for the hot drinks it was stone cold.... One word, avoid. Get yourself a instant coffee and a rustlers burger and you are already ahead of this place.
