Beautiful setting, with nice looking rooms and grounds. Bedding is fairly comfy, but there is no community focus with house rules and behavioral vibes set by management. Seemed like they were just selling you a bed. Was not warned beforehand about bringing a towel, I didn’t want to buy a cheap one- some hostels rent them and launder them.nnReception desk didn’t seem very happy, all about telling you how much stuff cost as if you couldn’t afford it. Although the location was great and convenient, I would not recommend this place.nnOne bathroom per floor is not enough, housekeeping was a bit abrupt at 9am on a Saturday. Then 3 people came into to check all the bunks even when there were people in them, to look for a missing pillow. It feels like a low-security prison here.nnAlso the cafe needs signs, because people don’t clean up after themselves. I checked out early because I couldn’t imagine another nite there. With no house rules, people eating and talking on their phones in bed at early and late hours. I asked for a discount for checking out early, they were not accommodating.
Downtown London, amazing price. Everything was super clean. 24/7 desk. Shared bathroom inside the room. You should know you should press a knob for running water in the shower. I didn't know this system existed, just letting you know. Huge storage boxes under the bunk beds. The place is very well maintained. Totally purple! ATM inside. Lounge area downstairs. Located in the park. Beautiful neighborhood around it. Outside area also. Great value for the money.
Beautiful location, though a bit far from most of the popular activities in London. The staff support ranges a lot by who is on duty. When I came to store my luggage, the employee was on Discord the entire conversation and missed several questions. When I checked in, I had an excellent experience and the staff member helped me figure out why somebody had taken my assigned bed and avoided any conflict. When I checked out, it was a good experience as well.nnThe rooms are fine, shared bathrooms for men and women in my building, and you should have flip flops/shower shoes. Good value for price.
We did like our room female 6 bed shared room, it was spacious and had its own bathroom and the Hostel‘s location was very central. However, it could have been cleaner, especially for the price we paid. The overall vibe of the Hostel was a little bit off. The staff were extremely unfriendly and we were expecting younger people, from what we experienced from previous Hostels. As a young woman especially solo traveler, we would absolutely NOT recommend this place, especially not the mixed shared rooms!!! Some of the people who stayed at the Hostel made us feel uncomfortable, particularly when returning at night.
Reception staff are very unfriendly. I don't know if I ever saw them smile and they just walked around with headphones on the whole time? The bathrooms in the common area were always dirty poo on the seats, no toilet paper, water all over the floor and the alternative was the one toilet in my 15 person share room... kinda odd to have 15 people in a room with only one toilet? Beds were not comfortable at all and felt super unstable. The location is super ideal for tourists! Super central and multiple undergrounds and bus stops! It's a bit sketch at night as you have to walk through the park to get to the hostel. There were a lot of older people staying here and there were even some large school groups during the nights I was there. This meant lots of noise and nowhere to sit... so it wasn't exactly a social accommodation like I thought it might be. I'm only giving it three stars because the location is so good.
