Stoke Newington £5.90 Madri Ryan’s Bar is located opposite the Town Hall on Church Street in Stoke Newington. The nearest station is Stoke Newington overground, Manor Park is closest Tube. This pub is housed in a Grade II listed Victorian building that was once a drapers shop. This is an independent pub that had been owned and run by the same family for nearly thirty years. This is a traditionally decorated pub that has some stylish contemporary touches. There is plenty of seating throughout including some long comfy banquettes. Around the walls are some mirrors, retro beer signage and large TV screens to watch sport. Downstairs is an atmospheric function room that has an ‘old pub’ charm about it. At the back of the pub is a huge well presented beer garden which is partially covered and has four large screens. At the rear of the garden is a garden lounge complete with fussball table. The beer selection was all keg with a choice of mainstream beers and London based brews. I decided on a pint of Madri, my pint hit the spot and pleasingly cost less than six quid. The food offering is @yardsalepizza ,you order using a QR code and your pizza gets delivered to the pub, a Margherita costs a tenner. I arrived at 12pm on a warm Saturday lunchtime in June. Soon after I arrived the pub started filling up with a few punters with their pooches plus a few lads from a local footy team. The atmosphere was chilled and relaxed with a nice local pub feel. The service was fantastic, I received a warm welcome from one of the team who was chatty and all smiles. The pub hosts Jazz on Wednesday’s and Comedy on Thursday’s. This pub is big on sports and shows all live sports channels. Visiting @ryansn16bar was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I loved the location on vibrant Church Street and the warm welcome by the upbeat team. There was a lovely local feel about the pub which made settling in easy. The big bonus here is the superb beer garden with screens which will appeal to all sports fans. It’s a Yes from me. ℹ Info correct on visiting 08.06.24
Held our civil partnership reception in the basement at Ryan's and Sean and the rest of the team couldn't have been more accommodating. Great communication throughout, had a great time and lots of the guests said how much they liked the venue. Especially appreciated them helping us get the sound system set up in advance in the afternoon and keeping us updated on how the bar tab was going as the night went on.
I hired a section of the beer garden pretty last minute for a leaving party and Ryan’s were so accommodating! Although both of their function rooms were in use, they went above and beyond to ensure we had enough tables in the garden for our guests. The staff were so lovely and everyone had a great time. Thank you all so much! :Food: 5/5
Wonderful place. It was very welcoming and amazed how spacious it was inside.Great decor. Lovely staff. This bar opened for my friends wake who was global opera singer, This bar added a really special moment with their great food and lovely friendly staff. They even played opera in the background too. Fantastic!
Me and my boyfriend threw a private party in the downstairs room - was so thrilled to find out its free! They offer a bunch of different things like renting out the private bar, their own karaoke on a big projector screen with 2 mics! went down an absolute treat with our guests and video games on the screen too. Sean was so lovely and showed us how everything works / how to hook up our own music. An amazing atmosphere, big room and lovely beer garden. Will definitely be booking them out again in the future!
What an amazing venue with fabulous staff! Sean went above and beyond to make our night special. Aperols, sweat tour, what more could you ask for in life?? We will be back !! xoxoFood: 5/5
My husband and I had our wedding after party at Ryan’s on Saturday 25 May. We originally discussed and booked the private basement with Dana. I emailed and spoke to a few managers at Ryan’s Bar over the year about reserving additional space and having food. We were told we would need to pay an additional £150 to have food which we hadn’t budgeted for but agreed to pay. It seemed like our agreements/conversations were not noted/passed on to new managers. On the night, we were told we didn’t need to pay the additional £150 as the bar had a “deal” with Yard Sale Pizza who we had ordered food from but no plates or napkins were provided as discussed. The additional space in the garden wasn’t enough for our guests and we needed to wait for people to leave to get more tables. The basement was really musty and luckily we got there a little earlier to open the doors to air the place out. Another problem was that people from the bar were walking in and out of the basement to access the toilets and some were even down there dancing when there was a sign about it being a private party! The bar also wasn’t stocked well as we couldn’t get a diet/zero Coke and our guests had to queue upstairs for 20 minutes plus to get drinks, which isn’t ideal as we had paid for a private bar downstairs! I didn’t use the toilets but some guests said that they were dirty, smelly and the floors were soaking wet! We wouldn’t use Ryans Bar again but it is a very good price for a function room in Stoke Newington.
We’ve lived in Stoke Newington for a while and never tried Ryan’s, to be frank because they always appeared to showing live sport not our favourite. But on a balmy Summers evening we thought we’d give it a go and was pleasantly surprised! Large, comfortable pub with friendly staff and an impressively large garden. Would recommend!Service: 5/5
Have walked past this bar a few times while in N16 but never walked in until recently..well I've certainly missed out! A lot bigger inside than you might think and a huge garden out back, which is all setup with multiple screens, plus loads more inside if you want to watch sport. Nice bar staff and very dog friendly - it may have been the landlord who came over and brought us a bowl of water for our K9 - a true gent! Nice atmosphere and will definitely be back.
Amazing service with a smile, at a busy time too. Food was excellent. We had the lamb roast and pork roast. Top quality stuff for a reasonable price. Great lagers.
