Great place to enjoy great food. The chef and staff do their utmost to make sure you feel welcomed and leave with a smile on your face - this is just one of those gems that open from time to time - real food being served by real people who just know what they're doing. Their charcuterie (available to take away) is excellent too. I cannot think of a good reason why you wouldn't want to try this place!

Best breakfast I've had in many a year. Wonderful warm welcome and one of the meatiest feasts you can find. Sooo tasty.

My in-laws has been impressed by this place and so chose it to celebrate a family birthday, I can see why. The style is very informal and the kitchen staff as well as front of house will chat to you, which is unique and sets a friendly atmosphere. No menu, but happy to cater for my father-in-law who will only eat chicken, most of us who wanted pork and my daughter who heard the word duck and would not be persuaded otherwise. Food was amazing, tasty, inventive, and just a bit different. Agata was brilliant with my girls and let them “help” her when they were bored. Booked the Pig at Combe a few days later and now wished we had returned to the rusty variety instead.

Friend googled 'lunch in Ottery St. Mary' and up popped this amazing, quirky, innovative place. Sat at communal table downstairs. We were offered choice of upstairs if we didn't fancy that. Front of House staff friendly and enthusiastic without being over the top. Open kitchen so we could sit and chat with the chef while he worked his magic. And what magic he works..... There's no menu, you have what the chef cooks.... And it's delicious! with great attention to detail regarding individual's dietary needs. You can choose to have the dish explained before you eat, or just have a surprise. We chose to be surprised. Every mouthful was amazing. If this was lunch, can't wait to try dinner there. Thank you 😊
