Fresh?previous review Fresh grease… opened bag grease sat of bottom of bag. Opened first thing and seen black hair straight away. Completely off putting. Luckily live local so returned and all he did was apologise I requested a refund. No hygiene standards
This was one of the worse meals I have had in several years, parts were still raw like the batter on the chicken pieces for the sweet and sour. The sweet and sour source was like very runny water with little taste. The egg fried rice was so stoggie it had no taste and lumpy. The mushroom and chicken was I cold just as if the hot mushrooms had been added to cold chicken and a stock which I could not identify. Will I return for another take away, no.
I ordered beef rice and beef curry and I am no means very fussy when it comes to take away and I don't ever leave reviews but the meal I attempted to just eat was disgusting. The meat was slimy and the rice was stodgy and it made me feel sick when trying to eat it. I'm so disappointed and what a waist of just over a tenner. I will not be going back ever again.
Excellent all round. Very fresh and tasty Chinese food, piping hot, reasonable prices, fast service. I can't see what the negative comments are about - maybe confused with another location? Anyway, in my opinion, it's the best Chinese / Cantonese takeaway in the area.
I only needed a quick all in one meal. I chose roast pork fried rice and was impressed with the taste and quality of ingredients. Great value for money.
This is the first time we have used this takeaway and we definitely won't be returning. We ordered lemon chicken which came in a jelly, the consistency was very different to ones we've had before. Rice was a dark color suggesting oil was old & the sauces were very thick and gloopy. Considering it was quite expensive we were very disappointed.
One star because they did at least provide food. Only half the food though. We live a way out from ottery and it is a half hour round trip. On return home we had the rice/ chips/ sauce part of the order but the meat element was missing. Apparently their mix up, they agreed, on ringing. The rest of the order we had paid for was still there, not given to us. good eh? They would not replace the chips etc that would be stone cold after the 45 minute delay caused by themselves. Their best suggestion was the microwave. Nice. Microwave chips and warmed up rice, no food hazard there! Also despite their admissions of fault, no apology. Poor in the extreme does not begin to describe it.
We ordered Mongolian lamb and it was inedible...no vegetables as advertised, just a tub of salty fat, absolutely horrible! We won't return to this place.
We have been searching for a good Chinese since we moved to Devon 6 months ago, and pretty much given up until we found this one.....Best Chinese we have ever had, you can tell its freshly prepared...... Prawn toast is packed with prawns, best chicken balls I have tasted.....Well worth travelling 7 miles
Crispy chicken? More like soggy chicken. Probably warmed up from the night before. This has always been an OK Chinese, nothing special, but tonights offering is the last straw. Will be avoiding like the plague from now on, food is disappointing average at best
