I had my daughter at Russell's Hall in June. I cannot fault the care her and I received, it was amazing. It made my birth experience memorable for all the right reasons water birth and used Hypnobirthing no pain meds, and whilst my baby was in Neonatal for 5 days, and I was on the ward, we were cared for impeccably. 100% recommend. Midwives and nurses were amazing.
I had my first daughter here in September 2023. I was so scared but the midwives were so patient with me and kind and supported me in everyday possible. My labour didn't go expected and there were issues but everyone made sure that me and my daughter were safe. My daughter came and they supported us both so well. I can't describe in words how amazing the staff are. They are just amazing women.
Personally if you can give birth anywhere but Russell’s hall. 1st baby 2019, labour didn’t go as expected I was bed bound for 3 days no compression stockings given, no blood thinners given even after surgery. 13 days post partum I ended up with 7 blood clots on my lungs. 2nd baby I was very reluctant to give birth here again but as a planned C-section I thought it wouldn’t be as bad. How wrong was I! The section itself wasn’t bad at all. However the run up seeing the consultants was awful. Despite been on blood thinners through out my pregnancy and the haematology consultant telling me I must have my section at 37 weeks because of the risk of bleeding out if I went naturally because it was Christmas the antenatal consultant refused to hook me in and thought it was acceptable to book me in 3 days before I was actually due! It took a lot of fighting to get a date earlier. However, Aqueela Hamilton was an absolute gem midwife consultant she listened to me agreed with me and fought for me she’s an absolute asset to the trust. Anyway fast forward 13 days post partum again I haemorrhage loosing 2.5 litres of blood on top of the litre I’d already lost in surgery. Yet again at the fault of Russell’s hall as I had retained product! Something that should not be left when having a planned c-section. Twice Russell’s hall maternity have nearly killed mennThere is no way on this planet I would recommend them.nnNot to mention nearly over dosing my son on paracetamol at just hours old because they hadn’t recorded iy as they should.nnI would like to commend Heather Bowen HCA she was a diamond both times I was in and the trust doesn’t deserve her. She goes above and beyond. And also Aqeela Hamilton who was my rock through out the ordeal.
Such a hard worker staff in here, they are well organized and supportive for the patient, the standard of care is outstanding.nso honored to work with them.
I chose Russell's Hall Hospital to have my first baby. Both myself and my partner have nothing but compliments and praise for the staff and the experience we had from start to finish.nnWithout giving too many personal details away in the public domain, we would like to thank the two midwives who assisted us to the maternity unit and fetched a wheelchair, the nurses and doctors who assisted from start to finish with my labour and delivery, the aftercare provided by the doctors, midwives, nurses, support workers and students.nA massive thankyou to the cooks as the hospital food was amazing for the time I was in there! I've never eaten so much nThe wonderful staff who filled my water jug up and brought round regular drinks and not forgetting the cleaners who kept the ward clean.nAll of you were amazing.nnOn the whole the experience was really positive; obviously there were some interactions which needed improving and a few small issues -however when brought to staff attention they were dealt with- but overall the care I received from the majority was outstanding - and I felt like the staff genuinely cared about me and my baby which was lovely, as a first time mom I was very anxious.nnI shall be delivering a thankyou card as the maternity ward at Russell's Hall is amazing x
