Do I think eight hour visit to the hospital is okay ? no!nDo I think that the whole system needs to be given a shake ? yes!nDo I think that there are potential hold-ups in the system due to staffing issues?yes!nDo I think that the staffing issues may be down to specific members of staff? Yes!nIt was quite clear during my long visit that many of the staff in fact most of the staff in A and E are very competent and patient driven but there was definitely one individual who did stand out as being different from the rest and almost resentful of being there and didn’t even acknowledge you when you spoke to her! I am sure the team are aware of who I am talking about, it justineeded to be pointed out.nnSo that’s the moaning over and done with, yes, it was a long session But I can’t fault the rest of the A&E team that I was helped by …Special thanks ton-the staff on the Triage Desk who were really empathetic, especially the young lady on the cornern-Albert and the other chap in the same coloured uniform were excellent and showed really interest in my well-beingn-Richard I think who plastered me up n-and lastly Dr. Abdul, what a star he demonstrated all of the skills of what one expects from a Doctor, I couldn’t fault him in any waynIf all of the team were like these it would have been 7 stars …nThank you Russell’s Hall but I do hope I’m not back soonnChris
Was rushed in on the Wednesday night, legs collapsed and could not get up. Very quickly evaluated and sent for X-rays and blood tests. Within a couple of hours, found a temporary bed in AEN, doctor very caring, asked a lot of questions, left nothing to chance. Moved to AMU2 the next day out of the over busy area, AMU staff carried on the cheerful, helpful, caring and knowledgable care. Food was not bad either, made my first ever stay in hospital actually pleasant. Thank you to all of the over worked staff, without people like you, we would be in a mess.
A&E dept totally useless they don't even deserve the 1 star, on 111 advice was told 2 go to the urgent care centre who decided 2 refer me onto the a&e dept for further tests& investigations,i arrived at the urgent care centre at 11.20pm only to be sat in a&e after till 7.45am with very little happenin or bein told much in that time,i left in disgust without even seeing the 'medical' dr i was told i would be seein from 3am,dont waste your time sitting in this useless place for 8hours,plenty of people there hours before me&still there when i walked out after an 8hour wait&stil no 'medical' in sight, how can the nhs have cone to this not caring about sick people, shameful!
Came here as told to by my GP as had a testicular torsion, Urology consultant who saw me at SAU was really rude, inflicted more pain on me, and when I asked him to stop he laughed. After surgery, I was taken to C6, The staff was running round like headless chickens, they have no idea about infection control and infections. Would never go back
I had a suspected miscarriage and was sent to A&E instead of maternity because of term. Waited forever just to be told to take a pregnancy test, then when it came back positive he said I was pregnant which, obviously I knew! in a condescending tone. I asked Dr if that meant my baby was ok and he scoffed and laughed at me like I was stupid, saying 'no' then sent me home. Hours of waiting for a pregnancy test. I lost the baby.nnPartner was electrocuted and came in with chest pains and numb arm. Waited over 6hr because he'd been 'lost in the system' with an apology. Good job he wasn't in for anything serious like electrocution and chest pain!
