A nice and calm place to visit. Take your camera and get some me great shots of the local wildlife. We even saw a common lizard just by chance. There are activities for kids to do and learn from too, usually involving a trail around the circuit. The staff here are very helpful, however we do get the same treatment every single time we go, which can slow down getting out onto the wetlands. It's a good place to take kids but try to make sure they aren't screaming in excitement or whinging, as the photographers will get annoyed as they scare the birds away!

A great place to go for a morning or afternoon. We went on a pretty chilly day but there was still plenty to See! The staff were very welcoming and pointed out some rarer birds from the main hut that we would have missed otherwise. All of the paths are easily accessible and well signposted and none of the hides are too far to walk to. If you don't have binoculars, you can hire them frolm the reception for £3, which we will certainly do on our next visit, as we only have the 1 pair. We liked the added touch of children's activity sheets in one of the hides where they can colour in birds etc. A really enjoyable afternoon and we will certainly be heading back, but maybe on a slightly warmer day

Always an excellent visit. The staff are always on hand to help and answer questions. We had only walked on a minute earlier and the warden pointed out an elusive bird he had a clear view on through the scope. The main reception has seating all the way around with clear views. Light refreshments are available at a small cost. Also accessible toilets just outside the reception. A brilliant visits for any age.

A fantastic spot to watch some of the local wildlife. A very accommodating indoor (and heated) viewing post, the volunteers were friendly and welcoming, even lent me a pair of binoculars!!.. Oh... And there is a lovely coffee available too for a small donation.... Perfect!

An excellent reserve with fantastic variety of birds to see. Welcoming staff at the Visitor Centre will help you benefit from your visit. Toilets available by the centre. Thoroughly recommend you visit Burton Mere.
