RSA Accident Repairs

I was toying over whether to give this a 3 or 4 star, in the end I went for 4 stars. My car went there for some insurance work as I was hit by an uninsured driver. The car needed repairs to the front door and skirt, rear door and skirt, rear bumper and rear wheel. They collected the car on the 31st May. On 16th May I got the call to say the car was ready so I decided to go to Luton so that I could inspect the repairs myself. I also took along a friend who is a professional sprayer. The quality of the first attempt was very poor. Firstly they hadnt even bothered to look at the rear bumper. The scratches were still present. The rear door had orange peel around the handle where they simply hadnt bothered to remove the handle to wet-sand and polish it. There was overspray on the trims meaning that it hadnt been removed for spraying. There were parts of the door which had scratches in the (fresh) paint and bits of silicone in the paint as well. Overall I was deeply unimpressed and we made our feelings clear to Ken, the workshop manager. To his credit, Ken acknowledged all of the faults, made a note of each and every one and promised to rectify the situation. Fast forward one week and I get the call to collect it. I insisted upon having Ken there which he was and he had rectified every single fault, given the car a fresh coat of wax and I was happy with the quality of the job. He took the time to talk me through the work done and was very apologetic about the first "repair". Were it not for Ken's intervention, I think that this review would have been a 2 or 3 star but I feel that Ken's overall attitude (he wasn't confrontational, in fact he was very empathetic) and the final quality of repair makes this a 4 star. I'm a firm believer that mistakes will happen, its how they are dealt with that separates the good from the bad. Thanks a lot Ken.
