Our second stay in Totnes and at the Royal Seven Stars. The staff here are really friendly, breakfast is excellent one of the best hotel breakfasts I've had and location is right in the centre of town. We've not managed to get a parking spot on site but the Morrisons car park is a 30 second walk away. The rooms are a bit tired in places and could do with a refresh but always clean and the other excellent qualities make up for it.
Excellent in every way.nUpon immediate arrival, Prompt, courteous, very pleasant and helpful staff. Went out of their way to make us comfortable and content.nWould highly recommend.nnA whole stay at a place is made more memorable when one is greeted with 'genuine' smiles and kind eyes from 'willing' staff, both young and mature.nnFor me personally, this is why I'd return, time and again.
Great location at the bottom of Fore St with the bus stop across the road along with a supermarket and a nice general store. Rooms are ok and comfortable but could do with a little update we stayed 14 years ago when it was refurbished The next refurbishment is due, we were told.nThe service is unbelievable. All staff except one went above and beyond what would be expected of them. Reception, bar, kitchen, waiting, and housekeeping all eere fabulous. Even the delivery man we met in the car park was really helpful
Very characterful pub in a great location in Totnes. Friendly welcome and a pleasant room typical of an elderly pub. Very clean, comfortable and well presented with most mod cons included. Close examination reveals it is a bit tired at some of the edges but nothing of concern nor unexpected. Everything worked well. Lovely breakfast with first class and attentive service and smiles wherever we went. Not 5 stars because, as an old building, it does suffer from creaky floors and ceilings and thin walls. Once the couple next door had concluded their animated and lengthy conversation, we had a comfortable nights sleep until being awoken at 7a.m. by the horde of wilderbeast in the room above stomping around for what appeared to be an eternity. Love to know just how many paces they managed in a compact room. That apart, a thoroughly enjoyable stay and decent value.
The best roast I have eaten out in a long time. I booked this meal having already had a nice meal there a few months prior and it did not disappoint! The roast was pretty dang perfect! The staff were lovely and attentive and the atmosphere was so pleasant. I will be booking again on my next visit.
