Nice pub with friendly staff, good atmosphere. Went on a Saturday evening and had few drinks and nibbles in the eating area. It has two sections if you want to sit and have food or sit in the pub area with drinks. They had live singer which was very good. I'll be going again for sure.

Very nice and well maintained pub. Food is good quality and good value. Interior decor is impressive and furniture is comfortable. The outside beer garden has a table football. Shows the sport, has good deals on drinks and cocktails. Monday to Friday its 3 drinks for £10. Bar staff are very friendly as well.

Nice pub and good live music. Staff were attentive. Real ale Beers not too bad either. However, the food was not quite as good or as advertised. Had the cod and chips - batter not great and actually no way that was fresh cod, more like a substitute, haddock at best. And then onto the sweets - really fancied the peanut cheesecake for £6.25, yes £6.25. Expected a real big piece of peanut flavour cheesecake with a thick base but got a small round vanilla cheesecake with a few peanuts sprinkled on top! Come on the Royal Oak, what's that about? Would have certainly said something if was not out with my girlfriend and the first time I had met some of her friends. Pubs make so much out of us on food these days, at least they could be giving value for money.

Date night and The Royal Oak the last minute venue of choice, I didn't realise that there was a booking system but we were seated happily and quickly, our waitress was very accommodating given that we just walked in off the street. It is under new management, has been I understood for three years and looks great inside. The ambience is that of a West End eatery, the hustle and bustle was lively and happy, our waitress Kelly was very attentive and polite. Unfortunately they still do not sell alcohol free wine which would have gone with our meal much better than the alcohol free lagers we had to have if we didn't want regular soft drinks.,which we didn't. We both had the Royal Beef Pie on which the pastry case was very tough but the beef and gravy was delicious, I opted for chips instead of mash, they were lovely as were the sugar snap peas. My desert was a chocolate fondant which unfortunately was a little burnt on the bottom, the ice cream and strawberry ju were lovely. My partner had sticky toffee pudding and said it was really good. All in all it was a lovely evening out and reasonably priced, we'll be going again.

Really nice place to eat and drink. Vegetarian option for the Sunday roast was a little on the small side compared to the meat dishes. Staff are really nice, polite and helpful. Hence the five stars.
