We had an amazing dinner with some delicious food and dessert. Calamari starter was perfectly cooked. The Neapolitan margherita was divine with perfect flavour and the cheesecake great way to finish the meal. The temperature of the restaurant was a bit cold for me but regardless it’s a highly highly recommended restaurant.Recommended dishesNeapolitan Pizza, Calamari
This is truly a gem of beccles, the food was to an absolutely fantastic standard it was wonderful! Paul and Paul are so welcoming they made sure that we had everything we needed and the staff was also attentive making sure we had drinks and checking that everything was OK, the menu has lots of choice and there really is something for everyone would highly recommend please get yourselves down to Oak Fired
Ordered pizzas for collection - ready on time and lovely pizzas margherita with double pepperoni with lots of flavour. Would recommend and eat from here again.
Had an excellent meal as part of a large family booking. Food was excellent, pizzas especially were delicious. I'd recommend it very highly.
Perfect pizzas, friendly owners. I've visited almost every week for 4 years as at Nov 21 and enjoyed best ever pizzas consistently. Cooking in an Oak fired oven gives an unbeatably distinctive flavour.
I'd like to say I am a bit of a pizza connoisseur. Having eaten pizza in many places around the world, including Italy. We ate today at The Royal Oak, myself having a pizza and my other half, having carbonara. I can say that this pizza was easily up there with the best pizzas I've ever had. And the carbonara was delicious too. The pizza was full of amazing flavours, and you can tell that the ingredients are genuinely of high quality. The service was pleasant, and the decor inside was lovely too. The oven is a beautiful artifact too! We will be back, and this I'm sure will become a regular haunt of ours!
Used to love coming here pre-covid but when we went yesterday, we left feeling slightly disappointed. The food wasn’t as good as we remembered but that may be us. The pizza sauce was a little acidic and was quite soggy on the base which was a shame. The pasta was ok but nothing special. The desserts were the main issue. We both ordered a brownie and they were more the texture of a dry cake than the gooey brownie we expected. My partner ate his but I couldn’t personally. I did mention it to the gentleman on front of house but he didn’t seem overly impressed with the criticism and even brought the dessert back out and pulled it apart in front of me to show me he thought my opinion was wrong. I never even asked for money off for it, simply wanted to let them know. My partner did find a hair on his ice cream but he’s not a fussy person so he just dealt with it. The main let down however was the service. The young waiter was brilliant, especially considering the awful way the owner was treating him in front of customers. If you want to give feedback to your staff you should probably do it out of customer ear shot as it made us quite uncomfortable. We even overheard what I assume to be the two owners/managers gossiping about the waiters performance behind the bar a few feet from our table. Very unfortunate as we used to love this place but probably won’t be back in a hurry.
Great to see the best pizza in East Anglia now offers local delivery. Just ordered and arrived piping hot and can confirm the pizza tastes great at home too!
Fantastic pizzas in a nice pub style setting. Offered both gluten free and vegan options, and service was super friendly. Visited with my family and children welcome. Highly recommended.
Had dinner here the weekend before last. It's situated in Beccles Town, a short stroll away from car parking 5 mins It's a clean, welcoming resturant with friendly staff. The pizza's look, smell delicious coming from an Italian background myself. But I did find the pasta dish was quite bland and the calamari very chewy. Apart from that, we recieved excellent servise.
